Poor menu and food and very noisy.Stayed here years ago when it was the Laura Ashley hotel and food and menu was superb. Now its changed hands and all I can say is its really gone down hill. The choice of main meal is very limited with burger, fish and chips and pizza the only real options, not really what I was expecting in a grand looking place like this. Ordered a burger which was burnt and dry as were the chips, had better in a cheap pub. My wife ordered chicken pizza which had no mention of the chicken being chicken tikka which shed already had as a starter. Another room had a party going on with loud bass and voices until 4.30am so virtually no sleep at all. Tried ringing reception to complain but was no answer so had to suffer it. This was a treat for my partner and was supposed to be a nice relaxing stay but we couldnt wait to get out. Sadly would never stay here again or recommend to anyone thinking of visiting.

Disappointing Afternoon TeaWe booked afternoon tea for five on 17th October. The menu on line looked very nice. Unfortunately the food was not as stated on the menu. It consisted of two finger sandwiches, mini bagel and a mushroom mini tart. We were all very disappointed by the selection. The scones were lovely and soft with a good selection of jam and solid cream which you could not spread. The cakes were mostly chocolate which were rather sickly. I must say the staff were very attentive. We did ask whether we could have more finger sandwiches but were told we would have to pay extra. The room where tea was served was very nice as was other parts of the hotel. As we were looking forward to the afternoon tea, this was a real letdown. I think if you book tea you must ask whether they are all sandwiches and not a mini bagel and mini tart. If we would have known beforehand we would not have booked. Perhaps the hotel should serve just finger sandwiches like most hotels do.

Lovely helpful staffThe building is beautiful and we went for a quick walk/exploration on the grounds. The staff we interacted with were all lovely and polite. We stayed in the most basic room and that room was great and the bathroom even had a bath!

Very helpful staff and comfortable bedI stayed whilst my daughter was having surgery at a hospital near by, made complicated by Covid restrictions re visitors. I was very kindly allowed to check in early. Jo on reception was very helpful, as were all the staff. The room, in a modern annex, was fairly standard, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept very well. The actual manor, where the restaurant and bar are situated, is wonderfully beamed and decorated sympathetically. Breakfast was very good, but my evening meal was a bit pubby however, I think under normal times their menu is different. Overall a very pleasant stay, in difficult times.

Much improved since new managerVery pleasant surprise and they have upped their game since renaming and new management. We were very happy to sit on the pretty terrace and the Manager came to congratulate us! Was 1 degree and misty! 1 thing I would highly suggest is some heaters. Would make all the difference for the winter months ahead. Hope to re visit with heaters installed.

Not the experience we were looking forward toBed was comfortable. Tea tray lacking sweetener. No biscuits. Shower was nice but needs a bit of a spruce up. Sadly had very noisy people close by. Such a hot night. Not hotels fault but no fan and because of noise couldn't open windows. Tried ringing night desk no answer. We were quite a way from desk so I wasn't walking there in the early hours. My other daughter had extremely loud music playing below. Again called Reception no answer went down. Guy sitting there asked if he could turn it down. He said yes but didn't. Not the best night for the bride lack of sleep. Day desk promised to refund our breakfast due to our room's issues. We stayed here for a wedding , so these issues took the shine off. Building work going on so not the most relaxing environment. Especially when so tired. Wish we had been warned may have gone elsewhere.

Dont waste your money here, book somewhere nicerThe hotel is dated, standards in the room were more akin to that of a budget hotel. Service was slow and the food was bland, breakfast is a joke. £17 per person for cold bacon, an egg and hash brown with warm orange. If youre lucky to get the food when its there. The review reflects the £200 I had to pay for one night, my expectations were high and what I got was a dirty, run down hotel with bland food and poor service, the staff are friendly just dont really seem to know what they are doing.

A very tired hotelStayed overnight on a Saturday when visiting friends and family in the area. Location was very convenient for family in Radlett and was one of the cheaper hotels in the area. Reception was fairly friendly although we were surprised at a £30 deposit required against damage, not something we're used to at hotels. We had been emailed by the hotel to inform us there is no lift, but fortunately we're fit enough for the climb to the top floor for our room. This will be a real issue with any with mobility of fitness issues. Our room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable, although there were only two pillows. Bathroom was adequate although the toiletries provided were solid bars and I'm not convinced the shampoo and conditioner really worked. Breakfast the following morning was very poor indeed. None of the cooked food looked particularly appetising and continental breakfast meant toast (no rolls) and sliced cheese kept in the dairy chiller. Coffee from a flask, as the coffee machine only dispensed espresso, was very overcooked and barely drinkable. Did I complain, no as there seemed little point as what there was was already there. I was however concerned when I saw a member of staff restocking the bread basket with bare hands. Overall the hotel looks very tired and desperately in need of some upgrading and care. We certainly won't return.

honest and fair4, we had a great stay the staff were lovely the food was amazing but we only ate from the bar menu, portions were large and yummy. the manor house was a beautiful old building stunning grounds the house itself was lovely and clean great entrance, parking wasnt a problem either. However its a bit of false advertising with the rooms on there website . As we booked into the main house but ended up in a motel like structure at the back. The stairways smelt horrendous. our hotel door didnt open we had to be escorted by a member of staff to get in. the facilities were basic and clean but overall the motel section is in great need of a few maintenance issues, carpets frayed on hallways and stairs. bit of a walk back to the manor house and lots of stair so be careful if you have mobility issues. overall we would go back as the staff and stunning location was excellent.
