    Wonderful

I met up with my family who had enjoyed a stay here, to have breakfast. I thought it lovely of the owners to allow myself and my partner to join my family for breakfast at 8am when we hadnt actually stayed. Great breakfast, whole room to ourselves (all corona guidelines followed) and a beautiful room at that. Wholeheartedly recommend.

    What a Nice Welcome!!

My wife and I visited Rye for the first time and on impulse we went up the steps to the Old Borough Arms and were welcomed in a most friendly manner by Sarah and had a really nice drink on the terrace looking down at all the activity in the street below because the Arms is so well located in the centre of the lovely old town of Rye. We were so delighted that we decided on the spur of the moment to book a room. We were not disappointed, the Arms comply with all the Covid rules and the room was well appointed and very clean with a comfortable bed and really nice bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and our stay was most enjoyable.

    Very Disappointing

Looked forward to our stay after reading the good reviews..but so very disappointed from the start....on our arrival we were given a key to let ourselves in to what we thought would be our room, but it was an entrance to a flight of stairs to get to the room and with quite a bit of luggage was a bit of a job also no help offered....The first thing we noticed when opening the main door on street level was a very strong musky damp smell that we put down to a large vase of Lillies in the hallway....room itself was very cold but soon addressed by staff who came promptly to turn on radiator and provide us with extra blankets for the stay...the room itself to us was not very welcoming ..bathroom nice with shower ...Up early for breakfast early next morning that we booked the night before ,when we asked for sugar to go with the coffee we were given a glass dish of sugar cubes from the window sill! God knows how long and how many other people had been served this sugar in this way ,and with the current situation would have liked to seen perhaps the sugar to be in sealed sachets like most other establishments do, hasten to add we went 'sugar free'..To our findings overall. .would have liked to have had more confidence in their Covid Measures in place especially when you think of the amount of people that frequent a B&B....Have stayed in some lovely places in Rye in the past but will not be making a return to the Old Borough Arms

    Great location, great value

The Old Borough Arms is in the heart of Rye, right at the foot of Mermaid Street, by the quay, and right by The Ship (my favourite pub in Rye. I got a warm welcome, breakfast thrown in unexpectedly, and great service throughout (including setting aside an item I left behind...). My room was the single room (9) which was bigger than it appears on the website. It's right on the street, but the noise was negligible. Comfortable, clean, and perfect for a one-night stay. Oh, and the 10% discount in the café downstairs is great!

Great B&B in the centre of Rye

Perfect location for exploring Rye, less than 5 mins walk from the station/big car park. We stayed in Room 6 for one night. Very comfortable bed and nice furnishings. Great black out blinds. Compact but functional bathroom. Room was a little cold upon arrival but the radiators were easy to control and quick to turn up. Friendly owners/host, kindly allowed us to check in early. Discount available for breakfast in the cafe below, however we didnt try this so cant comment - but smelt very good!
