    Quaint

1st of all the owner is not one for being quick, we waited a good 10 minutes at reception before anyone came to check us in. The rooms are very small, the beds are very small and the bathroom is very small, the room is finished very cheaply, don't expect to to feel comfortable in your room. The Spa is above average, very nice steamroom but small, fits around 4-5 people. There is a dry heat room, again fits 4-5 people. Relaxation room where the hotel could lie if they wanted. The sauna is outside and fits a good 10 people and there is a plunge pool next to it. There is a hot spring pool but is far from hot and then a very dated naturally heated swimming pool. Overall the Spa is very nice. One thing to note, this is in Austria, all people go fully naked which made my wife feel very uncomfortable, we were wearing bathing costumes which made some of the locals somewhat uncomfortable. It all hangs out for both men and women1

Relaxing, romantic break at the Vitaloase zu den drei Brüdern

My husband and I have just visited the Vitaloase for four days. The owner picked us up from the train station in Bad Reichenhall, which cost 35 Euros one way, but it was handy, because it's difficult to reach the hotel with public transport. We stayed in the Romantikstadl, a kind of cabin with a very nice bathtub (light and sound effects) right next to the big bed - the toilet was in a separate room -, a walk-in closet, a little sitting area with a TV, and a fire place that could be started with a remote control. I really liked the Stadl, but I have to say that we had booked a special offer, so we got it cheaper than it usually is. Every Stadl has its own little terrace with deck chairs, a table, a wooden bench and a perfect view of the "Three Brothers" mountain :) We had a few games of ping pong and went for some little hikes, we especially liked the gorges ("Klamm"). During our stay, we got breakfast (8-10 am), an afternoon snack (2-4pm), and dinner (6-8 pm). The breakfast buffet was fantastic, the afternoon snack was sufficient to be our lunch and the dinner was good. There was a salad bar, two different kinds soup, a main course and a dessert. My husband was once disappointed by his choice of main course (Chicken) and we both didn't like one of the desserts, but otherwise we were very happy with the food. We also had a 7 course dinner on Friday night which was fantastic. In the spa area we had three special treatments: the Kaiserbad with hay flowers - which reminded me a lot of bathing with a tea bag, because the flowers were in a sort of huge tea bag. I really liked the over-sized tub and relaxing in the hay bed afterwards, my husband thought it was just ok. The second treatment was the "Sabbia med", relaxing on desert sand for half an hour. I would not recommend paying money for this, we didn't really see the point of it too much; maybe in the winter when you really need light it might be alright. I also found a lot of hair in there, obviously you can't vacuum a room of sand, but that was disgusting to me. Lastly, we both had 20 minutes back massage which we enjoyed a lot. To the spa area. For us, the outdoor swimming pool and the hot pool weren't heated on Thursday, but they were the other days. The bigger "pool" is actually a kind of swimming pond, so it seems to be free of chemicals. The spa area is small, but definitely large enough for the guests that fit in the hotel, at least it was never crowded while we were there. On weekdays it doesn't open until 2 pm, on the weekends at 11 am. As is customary in all German/Austrian spas, sauna visitors are expected to disrobe completely and shower before and after going into the sauna. If you aren't comfortable with this, then simply stay away from spas.

    Relaxing stay among the mountains

Stayed here for three nights in the middle of January 2017. The location in somewhat far away from things, and you will need a car to be able to get around. The staff is very welcoming and professional. The breakfast is very good and has a rich selection. Personal service at the table for breakfast is a plus. Dinner in the evening is good, and very affordable. Rooms are clean, and of average standard. Good and fast free WiFi all over the hotel. The rooms have towels and a robe if you would like to use the sauna facilities. No flip-flops though.

    Great Wellness and Incredible food

Firstly, the food here was incredible! The prices were extremely reasonable and in my opinion the Chef deserves a few Michelin Stars, everything tasted incredible from the salads to the steak. Fairly small menu but with a daily changing special menu. The Wellness area was also very nice, quite small but a good range of different saunas and steam rooms, enough that we almost always had the sauna to ourselves. We took a nice walk direct from the Hotel to a small "Klamm" and along the river. We had one of the basic rooms, quaint and good, nothing special but then a very good price.

Small family run hotel with good food, but don't care about safety at all

The hotel is located near to ski resorts and has quite good location. Generally the food is really good, however food availability at breakfast could be better - for example, during our stay, we had to wait for fried and scrambled eggs - trays were almost always empty, then a waiter brought 6 (!) eggs from kitchen, and after 2-3 people they were gone, another batch (again of 6 eggs) arrived in 5+ minutes. Fortunately, dinners were great - not a big choice (like a couple of options), but very tasty and fresh. May be too salty - for people who care about its health and limits amount of consumed salt it could be an issue. Rooms are small and hotel clearly says it at their web site and I can't complain the size of my room, however I never saw such a narrow bed (160 cm or even smaller) in 4 stars hotel. My biggest disappointment is that I found huge amount of a black mold in my room (see pictures). Most of it were located just behind a curtain, I found it eventually when moved the curtain and immediately went to a reception. It was late at night and nobody was there and could help me. For me its a serious problem, because I have an allergy (especially for the black mold) and also suffering from asthma. Later I found the mold in other places in my room and it was extremely disgusting. Next morning went again to reception, a lady at reception did not speak English, fortunately with help of my friends the issue was translated, but she did not offer any solution, saying that they could move me to much more expensive room at my own costs or to wait while a boss could find alternatives. In a couple of hours, I contacted the reception again (because nobody gave me any additional info) and another lady said that she knew the issue and in another few hours we were able to relocate to the same type of the room, hopefully without a black mold. Whats interesting the second lady were surprised that the mold was found, I invited her to my room because it completely impossible not no see the mold during cleaning. The only reason why the mold could be undiscovered they never wash curtains, and that in turns creates another problem for allergy suffers. It was room #4, so please be aware of this room, its really dangerous for the health to stay in this room before its fully redecorated, with carpet change etc. So, I stayed in the such dangerous fro me room for 3 days and at checkout I had to pay full price, the hotel did not give any compensations, and nobody apologized for the issue or even said we are sorry. Totally dissatisfied and never faced such approach from hotel stuff. From positive side the hotel offers good wellness area, however its pretty small. The biggest sauna is located outside of the building, but it wont be comfortable to stay in sauna for more that 5 people at the same time. Whats more important, windows in the sauna have metal handles. And they are located at shoulders level and not covered or protected at all! Can you imagine metallic parts in the sauna where the temperature goes 80+ degrees? I eventually touched one of handles with my shoulder and got a quite serious burn! I am absolutely sure, that my case was not the first one uncovered metallic handles in the sauna create hazard situation and its just a matter of time and luck (not) to be injured by that handles.
