  The magic of Siciliy!

  This hotel was the perfect find for me ! located on a rock right on the Mediterranean sea, the hotel has beautifully appointed rooms with seaview - the rooms are comfortable, roomy, very clean. A couple of unique features of the hotel are the fabulous panoramic terrace where breakfast is served daily but where you can also have a pre-dinner drink and admire the sunset - honestly, the terrace is fabulous! it is the only hotel in this area that offers a private "beach" and fully equipped "english garden" with loungers and umbrellas, this area has private access to the beach. Donnalucata is closely located to Scicli, Noto, Modica, and many other incredible cities worth seeing in this most beautiful parto of this most beautiful Italian region. You won't be disappointed!

  Good Location Facing The Sea

  The staff were very friendly. We checked in early and they watched our bags for us as we had a drink on their patio upstairs and waited for our room. Room was clean, though not facing the sea as we had thought it was when we booked it. We asked to move to a room facing the sea, as our room was not facing the sea, but on side of building which we thought was a bit misleading on the booking profile. When we asked about it, they said "You can't deny you can see the sea!" which was obvious.. but not what we thought we paid for and disappointing, as we had booked the room well in advance for two nights - we would have stayed one night if we had known. Having said that, we ended up just enjoying the large balcony area facing the sea by our room, which was not being used much by others as we were there just off season. If it was a busy time though, it would have been bad as the balcony for the room is not private, as there are slotted wood barrier between shared patio and room patio, so it would have been intrusive or loud. Still it worked out fine and we enjoyed a bottle of water looking out to the sea. The staff were otherwise very friendly and said they were only there to make us comfortable, which was nice, and we did feel they were all professional and nice people. The bed was good. The towels were good. Bath products were okay. Shower was clean. Wifi was good. Air conditioning worked, but not really well...just okay. If we were there in the summer it wouldn't have been good enough. Overall the room was good. Breakfast was basic...cereal, bread, yoghurt, etc. - simple but fine. They make a good cafe! There is a popular restaurant on main floor attached to building owned by hotel but we dd not go there..and opted to go to restaurants in town. We did hear it is good. Parking was easy and free - they have two parking lots, one area reserved for guests. * Note: beach out front is NOT sand, but they do have their own grassy area to side of building with many lawn chairs which was nice, and the main long city beach is only a 5 minute walk from main door of hotel until you are standing on the beach. Easy. We hope they do figure out a safer access to town other than walking on main road (perhaps a place you can walk by grassy lounging area to inside the traffic barrier on road), as it is dangerous with trucks and speeding drivers. Watch out if you have kids. Other than not getting the sea-facing room we thought we had booked (and no matter what the rebuttal is, it was not clear our booking for a sea view room was not a room facing the sea (they said only the TRIPLE ROOMS are sea-facing) we did not get a room we thought we were getting. Still, if travelling that way, we will be more careful of our booking and may return here because of the kindness of the staff...especially the women at the front desk and running the breakfast room.

  Great location

  Not often your bedroom terrace is over the sea, but ours was here. Great roof terrace and bar terrace too. Very clean and bright hotel with friendly staff. Location is fantastic, only a short walk from town and beach (if you want it, we preferred the beachside garden).

  Exceeding Expectations

  Spent 3 nights in a double superior room. It was amazing view of mediterranean sea! The staff was friendly and helpful, even to the point of making dinner reservation and arranging day excursions. Breakfast was perfect. It was served on the terrace - a good choice of continental and sicilian style. An exquisite place with style, charisma and character.

  Great hotel, definitely worth staying in

  This is a great little hotel decorated in a gentle/soft marine style. Perfectly located on the seafront and a short (10min along the beach) to town. The staff were friendly and helpful, hotel was super clean, room amenities included good WiFi, mini bar and decent air conditioning. Breakfast was good standard italian/European style and is served in the top floor overlooking the sea. I definitely recommend staying here.
