  Amazing location, great room & service

  We right back from a 6 days stay at Alpenhotel and we definitively recommend it to anybody interested in visiting the Tirol-Kitzbuhel area (either family or couple). The hotel has an amazing location right over the "Black lake" so the views from the room were stunning. The area is super quiet so there are no noises during the night apart from the birds in the morning. The hotel has aswell direct access to the lake bathing area. We have stayed at room 216 with two big terraces overlooking the lake, 2 spacious bedrooms and one very big living room & kitchen. The room was perfectly clean and prepared. The hotel staff is super nice, always trying to make guests happy: recepcionist and all the restaurant staff. We showed our interest in having dinner outside on our first day and from that day the staff prepared a table outside for us every night. The food was as well very good: we were on half board scheme and really enjoyed both breakfast and dinners at the hotel. Every night after dinner we were playing games at the hotel bar and the atmosphere was very nice as well. We will definitively come back to Alpen Hotel if we decide to visit again Tirol-Kitzbuhel.

  Welcoming, relaxing, friendly & memorable

  We recently stayed at the Alpenhotel and were very pleased with our week there. From start to finish all the staff were wonderful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed on a half-board basis and the food was very good : a plentiful hot & cold breakfast buffet, soup, snacks & cakes in the afternoon for those that wanted it, and excellent 4-course evening meals which were varied throughout the week. Nice wine list too. The hotel also owns a private lakeside area just yards away, and while this is open to non-hotel guests you get free admission and free sunloungers if you are staying at the hotel. To be able to swim in the lake every day was heaven! Kitzbuhel itself is only a 20min walk away but the hotel also offers a free shuttle service to the gondolas and train station (you just need to inform reception in advance). And many walking trails start right from the hotel door too. What else can I say... if youre looking for a relaxing alpine holiday - near to a town but not in it - the the Alpenhotel will not let you down. Thank you to all for a really lovely stay!

  Almost faultless

  We stayed here for the first week of September, on a half-board basis with Inghams. The hotel is beautifully situated, the staff welcoming and efficient and rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. Our room was of good size and very well furnished although the carpet was beginning to look a little faded. The en-suite was excellent. The breakfasts were amazing - a wide variety of cereals, juices, cheeses, hams, croissants etc. - even bacon and eggs if required. Served with excellent coffee. The food at dinner was of limited choice - one fish dish, one meat and a vegetarian option. The starters were always very good (e.g. smoked salmon), then a soup course followed by the main (which could be a bit hit and miss) with some odd mixtures (at least for us Brits!) e.g. lamb shank served with polenta and salmon fillet with pasta. However, the desserts were always superb. Apart from the minor niggles about the food (other guests might easily disagree) our experience at the Alpenhotel was very enjoyable. Recommended.

  Stunning location

  we had booked this hotel ourselves, not through an agent. The receptionist on our arrival was the best!! So welcoming, friendly and helpful. She also drove the mini bus into town on occasions. Our room was on the third floor at the front of the hotel with balcony. It was a stunning outlook. The bathroom was a tad small but functioned fairly well. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The food at breakfast was perfect, so much choice and beautifully presented. Sunday breakfast included a glass of champagne! Evening meal was fine but not exceptional. The main course was somewhat limited, one vegetarian, one fish and one meat. The lake is superb for swimming, although my husband was chased (his words) by a very large carp!!!! Did find the meal time staring at 18.30 rather early, there was pressure to be there close to that time. As we were not in town one could not wander there after the meal, The shuttled stopped late afternoon. Do so wish we could have a kettle in bedroom for that early cuppa!!!! Also would have liked bottles water supplied as often is by hotels. I CANNOT drink some tap waters, so we had to buy in town. As it was very warm we had to get ice from bar frequently for chilled drink... maybe a fridge??? Check out was very slow as only one person was on duty for telephone and guests. It was sad we had to ask for the price of a cup of tea to be deleted from our 5 night stay bill! Others were not charged for their cakes and tea. It would be tempting to stay again but with the early meal time being closer to town has advantages or if the shuttle ran in evening. The service at meals times was very sluggish as there was a coach party in who did seem to get priority service, it also made it very noisy. Better when they had left.

  Skiing Trip

  The Alpenhotel sits opposite the 'Lake Schwarzsee', we were here (3 Friends) for 4days, (3 nights) from the moment we arrived to the day we left we had nothing but a good experience here. Hotel Receptionists; (All) were helpfull and smiling. Bar Staff; Excellant service and again smiling. Curtesey Mini Bus was a great bonus, getting us into the Town to the Ski Lifts and picking us up at the end of the day. (5pm Finish) but plenty of Taxis about if like us the Après Ski goes on a bit too long..... Waiters; Helpful and smiling Chef; We only had one evening meal, not from the buffet, off the Menu, and it was really nice and fresh. All in all. we had a great experience, we were here from Saturday - Tuesday My room was 221, Nick was in 219 and Jon was on level 1 and all rooms were fine. Thanks to all the staff; Just one last note, the Hotel Manager was allways dressed smart in a nice suit. Very proffesional service from everyone there. Thanks to all involved with making our short stay a good experience. we will be back..... Ian B - Nick B & Jon C.
