  Very good hotel with a nice garden.

  We stayed 3 nigths and enjoyed the room a lot, as the weather was not the best. The staff were freindly and helpfull and the pool and brekfast was exelent. The hotel is placed near the old town, so you can walk to almost everything.

  So charming, and great service

  Excellent welcoming. Super action on Corona situation. We had two rooms and booth rooms were extremely clean and secured with extra tape etc. The location is perfekt, Old town is max 5 min walk away. The hotel is perfectly restored, lovely furniture, in antique style. The breakfast was very good, lost of varieties. Sadly the restaurant was closed. Only on small complaint, really not the hotels fault, more the time of year, but it was not possible to sit in the lovely courtyard, because of very many and very aggressive wasps. Dont know if it is possible to do anything about that, but as minimum, a warning, them we would have chosen to sit inside.

  impolite front-desk supervisor

  we stayed at this hotel 2 nights, 23 and 24. july, room 112. at dinner we got an open bottle of water, that tasted like carbonated tap water. when we checked out, we saw that we were charged 8 euros for that water. i said to the young girl "8 euros for a bottle of water?" she smiled and shrugged. a tall young man in dark suit, apparently the supervisor came forward and i repeated the question to him. he raised his voice and impolitely said something i didnt understand, maybe in german maybe in english. on the walls around him there were several signs proclaiming the hotel was 4-5 stars and it was "fabulous". i didnt think his dealing with us and his attitude was fabulous. i had just calmly asked a question. because the bottle outside the hotel costs only 50 cents. i think the young man needs a bit of training and control of his temper. we didnt want to let him spoil our vacation, so we picked up our suit cases and left. we are very old people and paid a lot of money for our little vacation. this was not a good experience. we had asked for a room with balcony so we could sit out and have a drink. the balcony was only ca. 1,5 m2 and no chairs or possiblity to sit anywhere.

  5 star? Expect 4 star treatment

  We stayed two nights in this hotel. We specifically booked a room with air-conditioning, which was great with the current (August 2020) heatwave. After a long drive we had to wait till we could go into our room. No problem of course as we arrived about 30 minutes before check-in time. Unfortunately it wasn't even possible to get a small snack. Then the room. We had a renovated one which looked decent. Unfortunately the airconditioning (climate control) was the worst ever in a 5 star hotel. It was incredibly noisy and from other reviews I found out this was common. Setting it to a specific temperature would normally mean it would go quiet once the temperature was reached but not here. We also specifically asked for a kingsize bed during reservation, which in all other German hotels till now meant a single two person mattress, but in this hotel it meant two larger separate beds, if the reception was correct. According to the reception they didn't have any single mattress kingsize beds. Very dissapointing as we are used to sleep to side by side. Some hotels have top mattresses which can do away with the split between two beds, maybe a tip for this hotel. Our luggage also wasn't brought to our room (we weren't even asked), something normal in all the other 5 star hotels we've been. Perhaps they will answer it's due to Covid19, but another 5 star hotel where we stayed afterwards did bring our luggage to our room. The bellboy wore gloves and a face mask, which seems sufficient to prevent any viral spreading. Then breakfast. It was simply sparse. When taking a seat you get an etagère with different kinds of spreads like Nutella, jams and honey. Also a plate with cheese and a plate with meats. You can order pancakes and several egg dishes. Nevertheless, choice is limited. They do have things like fruits and yoghurts in small glass jars but it we noticed they were hardly used and also to use they were not inviting. Not worth the money at all. We've seen in other hotels that it's entirely possible to have a Covid19 safe breakfast buffet but it appears this hotel tries to get away with the breakfast as cheap as possible. They should lower the price of the breakfast as long as they offer breakfast this way. Despite that, the staff was very friendly and attentive. When asked if our stay was fine and I told the receptionist it was OKish, he just said fine and handed over the bill. The review makes it seem like it's a terrible hotel, of course it isn't. It just doesn't live up to the 5 star standard, so something to consider if you are looking for a 5 star hotel around Hannover.

  Great stay -again , would recommend

  Ideally situated just outside the picturesque town centre, parking was free , service was first class , the room was spacious and well appointed and equiped , the breakfasts are excellent, best we have ever had at a hotel Everything was open to use but book first. We found it best to book direct with the hotel as it saved alot compared with the booking sites. Heartily recommended and for those shy about speaking German, staff we talked with spoke good English
