  Very bad experience - bad value for (a lot of) money

  Stupid as we were, we had read reviews about bad wifi (booking.com), but we still booked. When paying more than 200 dollars per night, you expect the wifi to work. It didn't. Upon arrival we noticed the wifi didn't work. We also noticed that the carpet was really dirty, a lot of black/dirty parts of the carpet, really worn off/used. We tried reaching 101 Great Escapes all night by leaving messages, calling the maintenance manager etc. No response. There is no one at the front desk during our entire stay. You had to go to a location downtown, which was opened only few hours a day. When checking out, we mentioned these problems to the staff. We were treated very unfriendly. They even told us that not working wifi was not their problem, she said "It's like an oven not working, I can't help it"...Seriously?! - Very unfriendly, arrogant staff - No reception/staff on location - Carpet in apartment very dirty - Mammoth Lake is a nice village, but still a long drive (2,5 hours) to Yosemite Valley We would strongly suggest booking somewhere else.

  320 mile diversion.

  We travelled to Yosemite National Park for a few days sightseeing- had a wonderful day, then put this properties address in our sat nav. We knew the road to the property could be closed and expected to travel a little further than the 40 minutes stated on the website. Our quickest option was 6hrs and 41mins / 320 miles!!! In fact it would have been closer and quicker for us to travel to Las Vegas, Los Angeles or San Francisco two times! We spoke with one of the Park Rangers in Yosemite National Park who said on a good day with all roads open the journey to this property would take around 3 hours and not 40 minutes we had been led to believe. We tried to contact the property, they did not respond. We booked and stayed elsewhere. We have since requested a refund, which the property has declined.

  wee bit expensive, but not bad

  was a 2.5 hour drive or so from Yosemite, so a little far for our liking, but we booked it a little late so not many options left. easy to find though, from the 120 to the other main highway. picked up keys easily from the lockbox after hours - wish there'd been a lift to the top floor as our luggage was pretty heavy after a day of hiking! rooms were clean and cosy - so many moose, it felt like Christmas in July which was a little weird. fridge was a little loud and shower a little small (and facing the wrong way, if you ask me, so if you didn't want to get wet while the water warmed up you either had to wait outside or climb in over the toilet). aircon also didn't really understand how that worked (if there even was one) so it got a little hot. overall a little expensive for what it was, but it served our purpose for a couple of nights. wouldn't mind staying here in the winter with snow and proper heating.

  Generally What We Expected

  We have either owned or rented condos in Mammoth Lakes for almost 50 years.Therefore, we know what to expect when we arrive, a unit typically well past prime, not as clean as one would expect, carpet needing cleaning, etc. , This was about what w expected. We rented Unit 219; Overall, it was a nice, large unit, 3BR, a loft, 2 bath, well equipped, and we stayed for 15 days. Once I cleaned it off, the porch/deck was a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the view, albeit limited. The common area in the building was less than expected, torn carpets in the hallway, constant smell from trash chute. etc. This was our first AirB&B rental, perhaps our last. It took four phone calls to remedy two issues needing immediate attention.

  Steps from the Ski lift

  You won't be disappointed staying in this place. Our Host was Allie and was awesome. Very amazing Condo, indoor parking with your own assigned #;'s, elevator, etc.This an amazing winter retreat, not far from the slopes.
