  Acceptable Hotel

  We stayed with 5 children in this hotel in 2 rooms. It has a very good view and clean. There was no iron, no room services after 10pm and no fan ( needed specially during summer as there is no air conditioning) Its good for one or 2 days only. Bathroom was acceptable.

  They are Renovating and on the Right Track

  The hotel is situated slightly up in the hillside, about 500 meters from the center of Engelberg. Most or all of the rooms have a view over the town and same goes for the restaurant, and the view is at most time very beautiful. We had lunch and a dinner in the restaurant and both meals were exceptionally good and the service was relaxed and friendly. I am sure, that once the renovation is fully over, this hotel will be one of the best hotels in Engelberg

  A hidden gem in a beautiful area

  A group of couples and friends (17 in total) had a wonderful time stayng at the Balknialp for 8 days half board. The service was top notch and the food at the hotel restaurant is only mached by a michelin star restaurant. New chef. The 3 course menu was something we where excited about every day and we even greeted the chef by clapping on our last day. The hotel shuttel drove us to the lift and back every day free of charge and it only took them 10 min to come if we called them in the middle of the day. Highly recomended.

  Amazing rooms. Spectacular views of the Alps!!

  The Hotel is located alongside a hill overlooking Engelberg. The hotel is made entirely of wood. I was lucky, that this still did not disturb me. The rooms were decently big with a massive balcony. From here you can witness the beautiful mountains. I don't think there was an air conditioner, but my stay was very comfortable. Decent WiFi connection. The breakfast spread was lovely. Mt. Titlis base station is about 15 mins walk from the Hotel. It is best to come to this hotel if you have a moderate size vehicle or similar. You can bring your vehicle as close as possible to the property from where you can drag your luggage into the hotel. Since the closest public transportation is at a distance, those traveling with a Swiss Travel Pass may avoid this hotel.

  Extremely good hotel and restaurant

  I checked out yesterday and today I want to go back. The food is unbelievable and extremely nice atmosphere. Location of the hotel is little out of the city of Engelberg and it just takes you 5 min to walk in town. Small and nice city with a lot of services.
