    Very Unprofessional

    I booked 3 rooms. Upon arrival, which was approximately 7:30 p.m., I was told none of my rooms were ready due to a housekeeping shortage and that they would be ready within a hour; my account was then debited for the amount of those 3 rooms. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I went back inside to inquire about the time. After chatting with a lady who was also waiting in line, I found out she had been waiting several hours for just one room and was then told by the front desk it would be at least two hours before our rooms were ready. I am normally very understanding, but you can imagine my frustration. By this time it was nearing 10 p.m. on a Friday night and I had my three children with me 3 hours away from home. The whole situation could have been handled better and the front desk manager should have gave an accurate wait time before taking payment. This was 6 hours past check in time which I feel was totally unacceptable. At this point I asked for my reservation to be cancelled and was told it may be 5-7 days before my money goes back to my account, a total of $540. Imagine if I had not had the funds to cover 3 more rooms at a different hotel, I could have been stranded with my three children. Marriott hotels are always my choice hotels when I travel, but this whole experience was very disappointing.

    The only Marriott to do this.....Unprecedented

    My daughter and I traveled from Atlanta to this hotel to find out that our room confirmation was not being honored. The front desk said initially 30 minutes for a room to be ready. 2 1/2 hours passes and no guarantee of any room would be verbalized by the staff. My daughter and I were left with no secure place to stay. I spoke with BonVoy customer service who stated this hotel should have made other arrangements at another hotel for you and your daughter. Come to find out, there were 15 other guests that were suffering the same dire issues. The folks that we were traveling with didn't get their room until 8:45 PM even though they had been there since 3 PM. Having been a BonVoy member for over 15 years, I have never been confronted with this level of guest service at any Marriott property in the country. Recommend staying at the Spring Hill suites, a Marriott property, or the Hilton Double Tree to ensure a positive experience. I would like to give a shout out to the Springhill Suites agent who recommended the Hilton to me and my daughter because they had no vacancy. Extremely helpful and keeping the customer at the center of service.

    Do not stay!

    Is there a negative star rating? We had our roomed confirmed, we checked in after 4p. We were told wed wait 45 min for our room to be ready. I waited in the lobby for hours. We did not get into our room until 2:15 am. I have asked to speak to a manager. Tonya has not responded. I was one of about 50 people that experienced this same problem. My kids had to sleep in the lobby, when I had already had my credit card swiped, paying for a room. Why would Marriott put their name on this hotel???

    Extraordinary Guest Service and Best in Class Facilities

    After years of frequently visiting Birmingham I have finally found my favorite location in this Marriott Birmingham! Brad, Bailey, and Tanya are always available to go above and beyond to ensure I am comfortable and have everything I need. The facilities are extremely well kept and even when extremely busy the staff is accommodating. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place that will ensure your visit is a comfortable one!

    THIEVES work in this hotel and managers ignore it!!!!

    Im in shock. We spent weekend of 03.05 till 03.07 in room 733. I lost my Tom Ford parfume in that room and nobody fond it. We tried to call manager and were ignored. We called for 30 times and had never respond. My parfume was stolen and nobody cares. NEVER EVER AGAIN. If you want your things be stolen come to this hotel. Im really in shock that nobody cares. Its a nightmare.
