    Excellent Customer Service

Unfortunately my cousin couldnt stay here as planned, due to a family illness, but the owners went out of their way to ensure I was refunded promptly, even though it was a 3rd party booking site. Excellent customer service even though I didnt have the pleasure of staying there. Next time I will.

    Extremely disappointed.

I booked a superior double room - a seaview being the sole reason. I had stayed in 2018 and specifically wanted to return to the same room with beautiful sea views and spacious bathroom. When we arrived we were shown to their family room at the back of the house with a carpark view. I was extremely disappointed and upset. The showerroom was cramped and basic. The room we were allocated was not what I had booked at all. I was told the room had been booked for one, despite me emailing previously to advise it was for two. Nonetheless, if i had been a sole traveller, i had still booked a superior double. We were charged single occupancy - price was unimportant to me. Sadly my planned trip, which i had been so looking forward to, was ruined.

    Genteel package

Stayed here for one night and wished I had booked another. Small hotel with no lift but retaining a genteel air of days gone by. Overlooking BallyHolme bay. I had a single room (seaview) on the front with patio doors onto small balcony. Views gorgeous. Room compact but perfect. Beautifully clean. Excellent comfy bed and very comfortable leather chair. Love the quirky nature of this place. Like the tea tray which contains packet of tayto cheese and onion crisps and a penguin chic biscuit along with a selection of sweets. Fresh milk is stored in a fridge on the landing. The fridge also contains beer and soft drinks and the owners operate a honesty box with prices listed. Lovely idea. Breakfast was a treat served in the starfish cafe on the ground floor. I opted for the chilli eggs - two poached eggs served on a bed of rocket on wheaten bread with just enough chilli! Received s very warm welcome from hosts and felt that nothing was too much trouble. Will be back to stay and to visit the cafe. Was very pleasantly surprised at rate of £60 for the night including breakfast. Would have paid more to stay in this delightful place crammed with antiques and original features from a more genteel era!

    Breakfast- Starfish cafe!

Oh my goodness ! We went for breakfast and the menu was massive . A little taste of everything on there ! I had chilli eggs. It was delicious! I would say that its a tad on the more expensive side but I dont mind this if its worth it and it is! We were seated quickly. It is busy so I would advice you give yourself some time to get seated. Inside and outside dining is available. We choose outside as it was a beautiful day. I have just fallen in love with this spot. The view over Ballyholme beach is stunning. We also brought our dog:-) def be back! Thank you:-)

    Starfish delight!

Went for a takeaway lunch today which intended to be a soup, scone and coffee and came away with a full meal! The Thai Green Curry soup in a cup was a meal in itself.. in a cup! The scone was like a dessert...amazing! Cappuccino finished the taste experience.. excellent and all so friendly! Go and try it!!
