  hotel named change

  i must say that i wrote a review about, the hotel i booked and stayed at, named my meric, i think its a different hotel all together.as when we got there it was called, calipso beach hotel, it changed names and owners,a short while ago.we where not told this.where do i start,well check in was not good was not even offered a drink, as we got there there at 11.15 pm nothing open in the hotel, we had to find a shop open.luckly theres on over the rd.the food was awful.and cold not even a toaster.so could not have toast for breakfast,evening meal always the same,chicken nuggets where the high light of the evening meal,got served drinks in plastic beakers,i had to argue with the restaurant manager,tina, for a glass,i can understand plastic glasses at the pool side but not at your evening meal,there is no entertainment at all,all inclusive ends at 10.30.good luck if you drink spirits, they only serve,gin and vodka,and the wine kept running out.they have no idea how all inclusive works,the staff where not friendly,only a few would smile at you,i think they where scared of the management,the only good thing i can say about this place, is its clean,there are not many brits stay here, and i cant blame them, good luck if your going here, we ate out most days and found some great places to eat,turunc is gorgeous and would go there again, bot not to this hotel,give this one a wide birth.

  Definitely not 4*

  Myself, husband and our teenage son stayed for 2 weeks in this hotel. First impressions, really disappointed with the room, was expecting better conditions for a 4* but I have to admit I should have done my homework and check the reviews before booking my holiday. There were cracks and stains on the walls, mouldy corners of bath, loose bathroom door handle, hardly pushing to a 3* We were put in room 1010 which is on the upper floor of hotel. At first, all seemed to be in working order, except for the air con that seemed to blow hot air in the room(temp set at 18C felt like30C) and cool air outside in the balcony?? We told the reception and they send someone to fix it on the same day. That didn't change anything at all as the room was still very hot like a sauna. You'd sweat like crazy all the time, it was horrible. Again, next day we complained at the reception, which happened to be the manager, he said i know the problem with your room( i bet all who stayed on the 10th floor complained of the heat, asked my neighbours and they had the same problem). He promised he'd change our room the next day. Next day came, time he said came, asked him,he said i don't have a free room today so come tomorrow and i'll change. Next day came and again when we talked to the manager he said i don't know when i'll have a free room available?? Really???? You have everything on the system, check your computer, easy as that. By this point, I was getting really annoyed still keeping my cool told him it was unacceptable and you wouldn't put cattle in a room that hot let alone people. He was really RUDE, talking to his staff while i was explaining to him, the guy couldn't care less and that excuse of a human being is a manager?? That's customer service at its worst and that comes from a hotel spa staff. I gave up on this day cos i didn't want to spoil my holiday any further hanging around in the lobby waiting for this despicable manager to change our room when i should be on the beach. I feel sorry for his staff, if he treats his customers like rubbish i can imagine how he treats his staff. The bar and restaurant staff-hard working people, especially this young guy, whose name I didn't get sadly. He would go above and beyond to keep the customers happy, very polite, kind, just awesome ( this guy should be manager in a top hotel). Also,one of receptionists, who spoke good english was great, very down to earth kind of person. Food is alright, healthy salads, continental food, which is alright as you're not in England but Turkey and clients of other nationalities to consider so that's something for everyone to keep happy. Apart from problems with the room we managed to have a good holiday. Turunc is such a beautiful little village that i'd go back tomorrow without hesitation but not in this hotel. There's loads of other hotels nearby with restaurants and bars, loads of shops and cafes it's a fantastic little place if you like a quiet family holiday away from the crowds. There's water taxis you can make a trip to Marmaris to explore or you book a day trip to Rhodes which is 50min by ferry. A day trip to turtle beach is well worth it, thoroughly enjoyed it, you get to see King Tombs, sunbathe in turtle beach where you can see the turtles, take a mad bath and take a dip in thermal water pool. Awesome!

  Basic Hotel, Room nice, But clean and comfortable.

  Arrived at the Hotel at 5am on our 1st day, Shown to our room, (715), Night staff wheeled our cases, (nice touch), Showed us where everything was and how it all worked, especially the Air-Con. Huge King Sized bed with firm clean mattress and bedding, Loads of Wardrobe space, Decent sized Bathroom, Huge Mirror for shaving/Doing hair etc, Large shower with 3 sliding doors, bit dated but worked well. Toilet with in-built Bidet wash-worked efficiently!!!!! But the crowning glory was when he pulled back the Red Curtains to show us the view from the Balcony.... (clean Aluminium Chairs and Matching Glass top table)....Which was.....EPIC and Gobsmacking at 5.05am, as the Sun was trying to wake itself up...Lovely. The Hotel is situated at the top of a small hill, But only a VERY short walk to the Picturesque Harbour and gently sloping shingle/sandy Beach, With MORE than enough FREE sunbeds. All of the Sunbeds on the Beach are operated by the owners of the Beachfront walkway Cafe/Bars......All that they ask is that you buy the occasional bottle of water, or take a drink or meal in their Cafe??...NOT a problem, You CAN leave your Beach bag at your sunbeds and go off shopping or walking about, They do NOT mind, But will also keep an eye on any gear you leave behind-very obliging and thoughtful....We always used the 2nd Cafe' on the left as you go over the Wooden bridge...Menem Bar/Cafe...Great Staff, Free Wi-Fi, Great Food, Great Manners to boot!!!!!.....and CHEAP. The Food in the Hotel?? Is probably what British travellers do NOT expect, The usual suspects of Cereals and Bread and Coffee, Boiled Eggs......Then came surprises like...Full blown Salads, Cheeses, Choccy Spead, Marmalades, Jams and all manner of sweet stuff including Honey. But at times, It WAS like Cattle seeing just HOW MUCH some people could put on their plates at one time, That WAS fun to watch most days.....But some people had DISGUSTING FOOD HYGIENE HABITS....Like letting their Feral Kids try the Cereals one by one to see what they liked, BUT, Using the serving spoons in each bowl to put the food into their mouths, THEN put the Serving Spoon back into the Bowl full of Cereal-We got wise to this and got there before the little Oiks get to Breakfast!!!! One seriously BAD point....NO TOASTER OR TOAST in the mornings....BAD-for someone who likes Toast for Brekky??? All-Inclusive drinks....Is what you'd expect...Basic, But plentiful. If sitting around the Pool and relaxing is YOUR thing??? Forget it, On a daily basis it was full of screaming Kids and care-less Parents!! Sat drinking and Smoking Poolside....and I DO mean Poolside, Many times I witnessed Adults sat with their feet in the Pool...Drink in one hand...Cigarette in the other, Ashtray, (WHEN they used one), beside them.....It got breezy around the Pool, So, If you like Cigarette Ash in your Face and the Pool water...Enjoy??? These unruly and badly,(at times), behaved Kids would also be running around the Restaurant at Meal times, So be careful when you are carrying Hot Coffee or Tea....The Parents do NOT control them one bit.......They also let their "Little Angels" dip their fingers into the Jams and Sauces and Marmalades and lick off their finger before dipping it in the next one, GET THERE EARLY to avoid this??? The Dark-Haired Lady Receptionist is a truly helpful and understanding Woman, who WILL help you out with stuff should you need it, Speaks decent English and she is NOT at all patronising....Wi-Fi is decent in the Lounge area with comfortable seating in a cool climate-controlled area...Nice place to "Chill" All-in-all, A basic but clean Hotel, situated overlooking the Picturesque Horseshoe-shaped Bay...A joy to look down in at night also, with all of the beautiful lights from the beach. To finish, YES, I would stay here again, But I WOULD do more eating out, As the Mealtimes were sometimes VERY annoying, due to the Feral Kids running around and their bad behaviour....Their Parents NOT giving a fudge apart from just HOW MUCH they could get onto their plates....THEN leave most of it as their eyes were bigger than their stomachs...LOTS of food is wasted....BUT, It was plentiful.

  Great if you speak Russian or Turkish

  The hotel is situated in a good place in the village for all entertainment however it is known as the Russian hotel we were the only British people in the hotel we had to get to the restaurant early or the majority of the food had gone they tend to take 3or 4platefuls and waste a lot consequently we ate out a lot most of the food was repetitive meatballs salad pasta rice being the main food we did have some very dry looking fish and chicken wings twice.The cleaners need retraining our bathroom was not cleaned only the bin emptied and the floor mopped towels were not changed or the bedding and we were there for 10 days.The other staff tried very hard and were very friendly and helpful especially the manager.

  4 STAR RUBBISH!! NO ENGLISH SPOKEN, CATERS FOR ONLY RUSSIANS!

  This hotel claims on its website that its a 4 STAR hotel, which is absolutely false and needs to be investigated! The website states clearly that the hotel staff speck English, Russian and German, but to my surprise none of the hotel staff speak any English apart from the maintenance man named HALUK who did his best to compensate for alot of flaws within the hotel. I would advise any English speaking people to avoid this hotel simply because they only cater for Russian people and you can tell from their restaurant menu, music and the inhabitants of the hotel. There is absolutely no diversity in this hotel, and they might as well name it Russian Calipso Beach Hotel and save holidaymakers from going through the hassle of booking with them. List of Problems 1.Juices Orange/Apple juice were watered down, i had to survive on water throughout my stay 2. Very outdated TV units installed in the hotel rooms and no entertainment and only Turkish channels available 3, Bird nest right outside my room and had to endure the noise coming from the birds 4. Very dirty and unkept sunbeds 5. Pool closed very early and no last night entertainment to keep guests happy 7.Broken bathroom shower doors 8.Holes in bedsheets and cleaners did not change sheets throughout our 7 night stay, despite numerous requests 9. No wifi in hotel rooms and very poor connection in public areas 10. All the food offered was a Russian styled menu, and buffet food ran out and not replenished
