  A short note to thank you for the friendly environment you have created at the Retreat. Emma and I enjoyed the time we spent with you. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The hotel location is great with easy walking access to Clarens centre as well as the walking trails around Clarens. We look forward to coming back to Clarens and spending more time at your establishment.

  Wonderful service, beautiful town.

  We received wonderful service during our stay, and the owners were happy to spend time recommending the best places to hike and eat. The on-site restaurant, Treat, also serves quality food that is beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Clarens is a quaint little town, and Clarens Retreat complements it perfectly. We are very happy with the time we spent there, and would both stay there again and recommend it.

  Weekend at Retreat

  as per ratings below everything was fantastic other than the bed being a little too hard , no A/C in our unit ( of which we were informed when making the booking), pillows were also too hard. Food at Treat and hosting by Francois was fantastic and great value for money.

  Recharge and relax

  The hotel is beautifully located and the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves the most delicious food. The town is very peaceful and relaxing just what's needed for a get away. Thank you Gerrit and chef Francois for making our stay super special. Booking to checking out was very easy and everything between made convenient.
