  Great stay because staff was so helpful and kind

  I stayed at the Courtyard Bloomington for 4 nights recently to move my IU daughter into an apartment. The stay was very nice because the staff was so kind and helpful. Donna at the front desk was welcoming each time I came through the door. She went out of her way to make my stay pleasant. The housekeeping staff was attentive and left me fresh linens in a bag on my door since they could not come in the room due to COVID restrictions. Kudos to Marriott for hiring such good employees.

  Not as good as other Courtyards

  So I came into town to visit some of my friends for a long weekend and I love Bloomington always a good time. I have stayed at all sorts of Hotels in Bloomington but I had always passed this courtyard and it always seemed nice and has good room rates. The lobby and elevator feel very dirty the hallways are dark and noise. My room is decently clean at least I think. My tv is messed up and glitches and is just an old tv. They don't even have the snack area open for waters and stuff. I get its covid but like come on, That means I can't get a water from my Hotel? I also called for towels after the front desk told me to do so. And the lady was very rude and told me to go down stairs and get them which is fine but she had an attitude. There is also never anyone at the front desk. Besides the rude staff everything was good.

  Not up to Courtyard standards. This hotel is in need up upgrades. We only stayed one night so I didnt bother complaining about anything to the staff. Everything was basically shut down with limited staff in place anyway. Im all for Covid precautions, but Ive been plenty of places that still had safe breakfast options, had business center open, etc. Maybe it was local ordinances. List of issues... - 1 of 2 elevators was broken. Makes it hard with limited occupancy. - other elevator extremely loud all night long. Doors would BANG closed almost shaking our room. - towel bars were hanging by one screw, about ready to fall off. -wall paper in room and bathroom had large gashes and was peeling in certain areas. - ceiling in shower area had dirty smoker-like stains dripping after a shower. -no cleanliness confidence for the room. No sanitizing bag tv remote, sticker on door, make-up mirror has streaks. -TV was satellite that kept losing signal. -outside areas of building are faded, uneven sidewalks, landscaping unkept.

  Everything is closed ad ridiculous security rules

  As stated in the title. Website advertising says Starbucks, gym, pool, fitness center. But everything is closed. You can only enter one door for covid concerns yet the staff care so much that you lucky to se them wearing chin diapers at a minimum.

  Embarrassing

  Been staying at Marriotts 35 years. Gold member w/500k pts. Checked in for two nights and have wasted 1 ½ hours trying to get online with their wifi. Talked to front desk. Talked to manager (he called me). Nothing doing. No suggestions that worked. Latest MacOS, Chrome, MacBook Pro 16, tech savvy. They let me on their Marriott.com site, but no other site when connected to Marriott guest wifi. Then too, sink dribbles water. Takes about 60 seconds to fill up small plastic cup. No offer to send someone up, but if I want to move. Already unpacked and it's my wife and me. Like I said, embarrassing.
