  We are the third review in a row telling the tale of this place

  Last night we changed our mind about staying in a Cabin at this place due to three reasons. One the carpet was revolting with ugly stains and they should never have made it available (money mad obviously) The verandah has no table out there so what is the point? One would presume you could sit out there on your computer or eat or whatever. Nope. Overall the web site photos are deceiving as the cabins are very dated and you feel like you are in one from a caravan park or something. Reception were not authorised to reimburse our $150 paid, but paid out $100 and then gave the owners email address to contact her about the rest. We did this and she has said no and that they are keeping the rest. Her excuse was that when I changed a date it also meant changing into a different room - so what - does that excuse the terrible room? Of course not. I have stayed at premises closer to Cradle and yes you will be more but boy is it worth it. I will be telling people for years not to go to this place.

  Good location, clean and comfortable.

  Stayed for 1 night in Unit 1 - Feb 2020. Clean and comfortable unit, although the bed was a little bit firm for my liking. Lovely area and a good alternative to staying right in Cradle Mountain ( where accommodation is a lot more expensive ). Unit 1 is located in a block of 4 units which all share the same hot water system. I had a hot shower but by the time my husband went to shower the water was stone cold. We let reception know that the water was cold and were told to wait 30 minutes and try again as all 4 units were sharing the same system. Waited but still not hot, so my husband had a very quick cold shower. I would suggest that the hot water arrangements for these units needs attention.About a 20 minute drive in to Cradle Mountain. Had dinner at the Inn, food was very good.

  Good place to stay for a visit to cradle mountain

  We were visiting Cradle Mountain and stayed for 2 nights whilst we spent 1 day walking the reserve. The prices here were much lower than those at the reserve even bearing in mind the 20k drive to the Entrance. Our chalets were big enough , clean and with all the facilities we required even if we didn't use the kitchen . The main building is walking distance and has a bar and restaurant where we had dinner both nights and breakfast. The food was classical and plentiful with a wine list that gave us plenty of choice. The big problem though was the amount of time we spent waiting for our meals, it was approximately 45 minutes on both nights and we didn't feel anyone really cared about the time. Saturday night the restaurant was full so you could understand some delay , however on Sunday there were fewer people and we ate a little earlier but it was exactly the same as Saturday. It took the edge off our stay and its probably better to be first in or way last. Still overall the cradle mountain experience was great.

  Best burger I have ever tasted...

  We needed somewhere to stay near cradle mountain but found the prices in cable mountain itself to be unreasonable....so stayed at Cradle Forest Inn instead. We found the room to be comfortable, had all we needed and was reasonably priced. The bar had a live musician playing and the dinners we ordered were excellent and again reasonably priced. I would say the burger was the best I have ever tasted.

  Great Value for Money

  With the Cradle Mountain hotels seemingly expensive we found this one only 20 minutes away and thought it was great value. Very large, warm and comfortable room and really good "pub" food at very reasonable prices. So similar experience to many of the reviewers. Family owned and operated and doing a great job.
