  Beef it up

  I would say add a microwave to the rooms on the hotel side, have working ice machines and change carpets ... then we can revisit this review. Oh and empty the outside cans more often to keep the critters from scavenging for food. Ground being main building are gorgeous, just need more maintenance/ upkeep where guest accommodations are.

  Anniversary dinner

  The food was pretty good. We sat outside and I wiped the table down. It obviously had not been wiped down regularly as my wipes were filthy.It may have be a table that's not used much. I would gave given this experience a 5, but the waitress was not wearing a mask and would stand very close lingering. I was disappointed in that. I'd go back if masks were worn by employees while serving customers.

  Apparently has really went downhill.

  I stayed here for 6 nights in October 2020 and was very disappointed in the stay. I am not one to get to caught up with the fine details and like to think Im pretty easy to please. That said, We had booked our block of rooms 8 months in advance. When we went to check in the rooms were not yet clean. Some in our group waited 7 hours to check in stuck to sit out in the parking lot. The manager did not seem overly concerned at all and barely apologized for the inconvenience and instead of helping his crew clean the rooms to get us in, sat on his golf cart making small talk. Our room on the third floor had a door that would not shut with out a hard push. The coffee maker had moldy coffee which had been sitting in it for who knows how long. No microwave was available in the room and no microwave was available anywhere on the resort for guests to use. The refrigerator froze my items. I found ants in my room. The mirror was covered in damaged areas. The shower made a horrid screeching noise and several times while in the middle of a shower would simply shut off. It appeared this facility was in need of a lot of general maintenance. If you plan to bring a boat the parking was difficult at best requiring you to unhook your trailer every night. Id take the time to find a reputable mom and pop Resort at the lake to stay with before coming back here.

  A Hidden treasure

  Very good golf and fishing destination. Simply beautiful gardens and golf course. Great get-a-way place for a quiet outing with family or friends. With the current Covid situation: I watched the room being cleaned and sanitized! The restaurant is slightly off its usual quality but still good. Recent storm damage is being worked. The golf course is in good shape. It is a little short at 6,000 from the white tees, but has a lot of blind shots and curves which makes up for the length. The views of Toledo Bend reservoir are stunning. Just a great trip.....

  Cypress Bend was affordable, comfortable, friendly, clean with a beautiful view of Toledo Bend Reservoir. This was a golf outing for 8 guys. The golf course was also very accommodating and friendly. We try to go at least twice a year.
