    Decent place to stay

After reading so many bad reviews, I was pleasantly surprised when we checked in. Our rooms (3 of them) were perfectly fine, basically what you would expect for a 3 star hotel. The carpets have been removed and they have Wood look lino on the floors. Room was clean and tidy and cleaned and replenished each day. It is nothing fancy, but decent. Only things I could pick out, is that the shuttle to the airport is not free (as per their website) it is RM12 each way, the pool is not a nice blue as per the picture, it is brown, but supposedly clean - did not swim, no time. I personally did not eat at the restaurant, but those that did were not too impressed, so after day 1 they came out to the local "coffee shop"(corner restaurant) and had Roti's with us. All over a pleasant stay and the staff are friendly.

    Gone to the pack

For 10 years we have been staying here for the Motogp weekend. Yes we realize its a 3 star hotel and there were some issues, but generally it was clean, staff were friendly and there was a pool. Three years ago the manager Mr David moved to another hotel and thats when the problems started. The word must be getting around because this year no GP teams stayed. In regards to the rooms, some of ours had only warm water in the shower. Some of the tv's were unwatchable, and what WI FI. We have been saying for years get some chairs and tables to the pool area and this year even less. To get ice to the pool area was 4 ringet when it used to be free. So will we stay next year ? probably but hopefully Mr David reads this review and can do something about it.

There is not much to highlight

We stayed here so we were close to the track for the MotoGP. Organizing a shuttle to the track, was painful to say the least. One person says pay driver the other says pay reception, then driver doesnt show anyway, after walking half an hour to pick up point. Gave up in the end and got a cab every day. Desk staff were disinterested in helping with anything in general. Food (breakfast and dinner buffet) were average at best. No cash for changing money, told us to come back at 9.30 but still didnt have cash. No money changers locally. One evening I had a shower only to realize there were no towels - They had not been returned from laundry (5.30 pm ) and we had to wait for an hour for them. Air con temp cant be changed and fridge didnt work when we took the key out to leave the room, so no cold drinks. Limited places for food nearby. Only one staff member (concierge) was helpful getting us a grab when we left. The room was not cleaned properly at all. Dirty glasses, table etc. we will never stay here again and would not recommend it. WiFi was virtually non existent in our room. When I asked for help they told me to just keep trying. Only place it worked was near reception desk.

Near the airport, okay for somewhere to crash for a night

Empress Hotel Sepang Room 333 Only a 20 minute drive from the airport, and a transfer service available for 12 ringgit each way, make sure you use this service, I got a grab to the hotel, which cost me 45 ringgit which I felt was overpriced. Theres not a lot around this area a few local restaurants and a KFC. The hotel says no outside food and that is because everything there is overpriced, for example a bottle of water that costs 1.5 ringgit in seven eleven the hotel wanted 8 ringgit, the food prices are just as bad. You do however get a couple of bottles of water with the room. Checking in was fine, room is okay, quite dated but did have a new TV, however the reception was so poor they may as well have put a radio in the room, beds are comfortable, sheets were clean and good quality. Great shower, really powerful and just the right temperature. Got woken up at midnight by reception wanting to know what I wanted to do about the connecting door tomorrow, didnt make much sense to me but woke me up. The swimming pool on floor 12 was fine. At first I thought the water was dirty but I think its the unfortunate colour of the tiles as it was fine. However I got up at 7am to have an early morning swim as I was traveling all day and it was locked, but the sign said it opened at 7am, I went back at 7.30 and it was still locked so didnt get a morning swim which was disappointing. Breakfast £8.50 which I felt was a bit steep considering the room only cost £20 If you just need a cheep hotel to crash in waiting for a plane, this place is cheep and fine.....dont expect many frills though.

    Worst customer service

I had emailed them to inquire about the free shuttle service from the airport, they never replied my emails. I had called many times in several days period, nobody pickup. Worst customer service experience ever.
