  Grand National Weekend

  Excellent base for a weekend away for the Grand National with a few friends. The manager was very pleasant when we arrived and showed us how to use the codes to get in our rooms. The room was basic but comfortable and exactly what we needed given we were using the hotel as a base for the weekend. Would definitely stay here again for a weekend in Liverpool!

  Would definitely stay here again.

  Nice easy check-in with Chip, very laid back & helpful. Free parking. Pleasantly surprised by the size of the bedroom & bathroom. (Room number 2). Double bed, bunk beds, a 2 seater chesterfield sofa & still plenty of room to move around. There was even a little fridge in the room to keep the beers cool. There was a mold patch on the bathroom ceiling, but to be fair, he told us about this before we'd even checked in. Fresh folded towels on the bed with soap & shower gel, tea & coffee facilities. We were going to a concert at Anfield Stadium & it was literally right on the doorstep! A minute's stroll up the road....perfect. To be that close to the concert venue for £49 was great. We would definitely stay there again.

  Concert

  We were unsure what it would be like after reading some of the reviews, dont let them put you off. We were able to leave the car in the car park & get a taxi to the city centre. Only stayed for 1 night, ideal location for Anfield stadium. We had a lovely welcome from Chip! Room was clean & beds comfy. Would definitely go back again. Thanks Chip

  Lovely weekend stay

  Booked to stay here with my family to watch the first Liverpool game of the new season. Easy place to find and upon arrival we were met by Chip who run's the place, an absolutely lovely guy who's well travelled and has many stories to tell. For us it was perfect, rooms were clean with comfortable beds and it was literally 30 seconds away from Anfield which is perfect for the football and also trips into town. Only 2 of us had tickets meaning 2 of us missed out but Chip made sure my wife and son got to watch the game in the bar and a chance to soak up some of the pre-game atmosphere. Overall a lovely weekend and will definitely be returning again very soon.

  Perfect location for Anfield Stadium

  The location is approx 2 min walk to Anfield so perfect for the footy . The hotel itself is a bit 'dated' and in need of a refurb . It has history with the Beatles manager Brian Epstein's grandparents living here many years ago so has plenty of reading material on the walls if you are into that sort of thing . It has a small bar with a pleasant decking and a large garden area (next to Steptoes' junk yard) , no draught beers at all though- bottles & cans only . No restaurant or any cooking facilities at all here so you will have to go out for breakfast etc . (they say the kitchen is being refurbished but I don't think they actually have one as this has been the cased for some time according to other reviews) The bedroom was clean and fairly big with tea/coffee making facilities in room also . En-suite bathroom was clean and towels and shower gel were supplied . Staff were pleasant and friendly (especially Chip the big American Guy) Overall an average 'boarding house' in a good location , but lacking in amenities (especially food and drink)
