  two star stay in a four star property

  The sadness is that the property is really nice - very clean, very new, and close to the airport. The people are nice, if not proactive, and the rooms are clean, if not well designed. The food is very good, if not inventive and poorly served. The challenge, as you can see, is inconsistency and poor service. It did not help that two days out of the five, we did not have any water. Not just any hot water -- no water at all. This was very disconcerting and there was no one there to tell the guests what to do. They did supply bottled water (after being asked, but not in a proactive way). The hotel is nice, and located near to the airport, but there is nothing nearby -- the beach is 700 meters away down a very scary alleyway and there are no restaurants nearby. It seems to be set in the middle of a very poor area and all I can say is that I hope it provides jobs to the people nearby. If you do not speak Portuguese, do not stay here. This is the only hotel on earth that does not get CNN -- in any form. There is no Wi-Fi in the room and the Wi-Fi in the restaurant was intermittent at best. I would not stay here again if I can avoid it. I feel bad about this because it has such potential, but they need to train the staff, create consistent service and have water available -- every day.

  Value for Money in Luanda

  The rooms are clean and modern. All amenities functioned well. The staff was friendly, but I did have trouble finding English speaking staff which is the case everywhere. Ask for a room facing the ocean, definitely a better view than the road and shanties facing side of the hotel. Wifi is not available on the 2nd and 3rd floors. It is on the 1st and 4th. The hotel does provide data cables but my experience was bad. Biggest problem I had was that there is only one plug point in the room, that too at the bottom of the wall near the bathroom entrance. This means you have to place your laptop/phone on the floor while charging. I would really prefer a plug point by the bed. Ideal location for traveling towards Talatona, as you beat the traffic. Complimentaryt buffet has a decent spread.

  Less than expected

  It's no so far from the center of Luanda, but in the morning you can drive for an hour... Rooms are confortable and with enought space, but there are some noices from outside during the night. Service not specially kind. The restaurant has a really nice fish and the menu is very complete for a dinner choice. Breackfast buffet can improve. Internet very slow...

  Good for Luanda, average anywhere else

  This is a good hotel for Luanda. It's clean, the rooms are modern, bathroom is clean, but average and the hotel is centrally located. Good for someone conscious of the over inflated Luanda pricing. This one will cost you under $300 a night. Food is clean and edible, but nothing special. There is a bit of a language barrier and the service is slow and at times there is a lack of understanding, but you'll have that anywhere in Angola.

  Very Good Hotel

  I have stayed here a number of times. It is quite a new hotel with very good facilities. Gym and pool are on the upper level and both are fine. The rooms are a fair size and comfortable. Some of the staff speak English but not all, however that does not stop all the staff form been friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
