  Franklyn D Resort nuestro otro hogar

  Estimado Frank Rance, llevamos yendo a su complejo durante casi doce años y nos encanta. Seguramente sea el lugar más seguro y más adaptado a las necesidades de los niños de todos los que conocemos en el mundo. Le adjunto una carta de mi hijo Brandon, de doce años, que redactó para un trabajo escolar sobre los mejores lugares a visitar y que en pocas palabras lo cuenta todo. Es el décimo segundo año que volvemos, este mes de abril de 2007 y estoy deseando ir. ¡Siga así!, porque para nosotros es nuestro otro hogar. Sinceramente, Los O'Sullivan's.

  Vacaciones relajadas

  El concepto que caracteriza a FDR es fantástico pues ofrece una niñera de vacaciones y se dirige a un público que desea llevarse a sus hijos de viaje pero aún así quiere un descanso. El complejo está repleto de personas agradable que hacen lo imposible por ti y tu familia. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y limpias. Se puede llenar el frigorífico a diario con comida y bebida (mi bebida favorita era Grey Goose). La niñera animaba a los niños a participar en actividades que empezaban a las nueve y terminaban a las cinco de la tarde. Me acompañaban un niño de seis, otro de siete y un tercero de dieciséis años de edad y todos se divirtieron muchísimo. Se ocupan de las vacaciones familiares. Si buscas cocina de cinco estrellas y habitaciones de primera calidad, deja a tus hijos en casa y vete a un Four Seasons o al Ritz, pero si lo que quieres es que tus vacaciones se conviertan en un recuerdo memorable para tu familia y para ti, el FDR es de visita obligada.

  Fun for Kids

  Small resort, a bit aged. Main pool was ok. Hot tub and other water areas empty. Cute rec room above the bar. Limited food options but what they have is good. Nannies are great and staff is friendly. Rooms are enormous and nice. Beach at the resort is small but you have access next door which is large and has great snorkeling. Take the boat trip from the resort. Excellent. All in all a fun resort but be prepared for a small, intimate experience

  Repeat visitor for a reason!

  TL;DR - all of the 'bugs' are really 'features'- well maintained property, amazing staff, beautiful beach and great food- I have never felt more relaxed then when I am at FDR. GO. Ahh.... FDR... never change you crazy beast. If you are reading this and interested in this property, I imagine it is because you have young kids and looking for some time off of parenting in the sun, sand, surf. If you Don't have kids, this may not be the best resort for you .. just sayin. We have been going to FDR now for 6 years and will be going back for a 7th. Why? the difference between a trip and vacation my friend. FDR is truly a vacation- drop the kids off with the nanny and get ready and leave your worries at the door- no further planning/managing/negotiating needed. Just sit back and relax. Everything works in its own weird, wonderful way here including: Staff: the main reason I keep on coming back and the heart of the place - from Triswana in booking/management to Omeryece /Bruce running the entertainment Miguel in the bar, The heart of the place is the vacation nannies- are really good keeping the kids entertained so everyone can enjoy their time. They are available to watch your kiddos after hours for additonal hourly fee. As a parent of a toddler (now young child) there is nothing like spending an afternoon with the spouse at the beach without a care in a world (remeber that feeling parents?) knowing that your kids are safe, cared for and making their own memories. Food: the best I have had at an all inclusive- all premade, local and wonderful. I have had better Indian and Italian food for sure, but the Jamaican cuisine is amazing. Pleanty of options for your picky eaters and during peak times there are a few rotating restaurant/themes to choose from. Finally, the weekly Beach banquet (usually every Saturday) is not to be missed! Drinks: well stocked, great service (can get overwhelmed at mealtimes during peak periods) Resort grounds: this is a small resort - again I feel this works to the advantage of the place as it never feels corporate or impersonal like a RIU , Hyatt, or Sandals property. Older but well maintained. Beautiful mature local vegetation all throughout. Kind of hodge-podge but it all works well together like a beautiful mosaic. Excursions: resort runs a shopping trip to Ocho Rios. Easy to plan trips to Dunn's River, Green grotto, blue hole or other excursions- with our without kids in tow. COVID has limited what is open/available naturally.

  Best family vacation ever even in covid

  This resort has made covid disappear into the background more than any other resort or hotel that anyone could find, while still making guests feel like they are taking it seriously and protecting guests. They are providing all the amenities that you took for granted before covid but in an updated and safe way. Things like daily housekeeping, fresh towels without begging, gym, spa services, kids activities, scuba, restaurants (all outdoor seating), and entertainment are all still available. All that and their unmatched personalized customer service at a price that just can't be matched anywhere. We have been going to this resort for almost 20 years. It is still the only place that I have ever found that includes a vacation nanny for the duration of your stay. She is exclusive to your family and is also your familie's personal concierge. We have had our same nanny Sofia for all of our visits and she has become like one of our family members. We have all kept in touch with her and her daughter. We still go back every year even though we no longer need a nanny as our kids are all older. We go back for the friends we have made who go back every year, for the friends we have made that work there, and for the level of service that we are treated to while there. You owe it to yourself and your family to go there whether you have infants, teens or twenty somethings. This is a small family owned and operated resort that blows away all competition.
