  Lovely lodge in idyllic location

  This is an extremely comfortable lodge with very friendly staff in a beautiful location. The views over the Genoa river are spectacular. Meals are also available so one does not have to self-cater. They will also provide a picnic lunch when required. This is the only operation that allows one to take a hire boat up the amazing Wallagaraugh river. They also have fishing kayaks. Overall the lodge has a very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. We fully intend to return.

  Beautiful place; very tranquil, excellent service all round

  Really enjoyed our stay there. Very nice comfortable bedroom with great view. Only 3 other couples staying there due to distant bush fires causing cancellations. Dinner was excellent, in good company. Nice walks down to the quay. Good breakfast before our departure. Great welcome from owners and staff alike. Wish we could have stayed longer!

  Paradise

  After visiting Mallacoota (lots of kangaroos) we arrived at dawn in Gipsy Point. We expected not to be the only visitors and thought we could have dinner, but there was no facility to do so. The manager however was very friendly and advised us not to go back to Mallacoota because of the risk of hitting wildlife and offered us some spaghetti, sauce, cheese and wine, which we prepared in our apartment/bungalow. We found the place absolutely magic. What a garden! What a view! Fantastic to wake up watching birds of all kinds, wallabies,.. To us this is one of the places we will never forget and of which we hope it will never lose its character.

  Lets do that again, soon!

  Wow! This was the ideal place to spend some time. Everything about our stay at Gipsy Point Lodge was exceptional, even though we did squeeze in at the last minute. Matthew and Katie were fantastic hosts and were helpful and friendly from start to finish, the rooms were simple clean and comfy, the location is breathtaking. The meals at the restaurant were delicious, wish we could take the chef home with us. We recommend having a go at hiring the tandem kayak and doing a spot of fishing and there was plenty of local wildlife spotting to keep you busy. If youre after a relaxing getaway without the crowds, look no further. Maybe a nice outdoor BBQ area to cook the fish you catch would be a nice addition. Internet connection wasnt great, but that only added to the charm. We will be back. Cheers Stephen and Michelle

  Hidden Gem

  Booked a very last minute CoVid Holiday, and very lucky to have found Gipsy Point Lodge. Quiet Corner of Far East Gippsland, Limited Mobile and Wi-Fi which was just what was needed as an escape from work. Comfortable Rooms, Friendly Hosts as a bonus :) Beautiful Surroundings, Plentiful Wildlife, including a Koala we could see from the room. The Dining room is a delight, great food and an amazing view. Our first trip to the area, but certainly not the last.
