  Espectacular ubicación frente al mar

  La habitación muy espaciosa con una vista increíble a la costa Cilentana. La puesta del sol al lado de Capri es magnífica. La atención del personal siempre atento a las necesidades de los huéspedes y el desayuno realmente muy bueno así como el servicio de playa

  Great hotel in unspoil Italy

  Just returned from a 15 day trip to Italy and we spent 6 nights in this hotel. I have been to Castellabate many years ago and stayed in San Marco di Castellabate a few miles along the coast. I found San Marco a bit dismal with very few restaurants and a pretty plain harbour. What a joy to find the picturesque Santa Maria the very great example of the charming Italian sea side town that we dream of but seldom find. The town is relativily quiet during the week but comes alive at weekends with well heeled Italian families who crowd onto the organised private beaches and one free beach right in the centre of town. The harbour is bustling with restaurants and bars and has a great Italian vibe. The Grand Hotel Santa Maria is set right on the beach a few steps from the town, in fact you can walk into town along the beach passing the various lidos and restaurants along the way. We stayed in a junior suite which was spacious and light and airey. We had a balcony overlooking the beach which had the sun all afternoon and into the evening. The room was well furnished and comfortable. My only criticism would be that the shower was very small which is a shame because the bathroom is very spacious. However this did not spoil my enjoyment as the rest of the hotel is subperb. There is a private beach which is a few steps down from the hotel entrance and gives a real on the beach feling. Normally I wouldn't stay in a hotel without a pool but we didn't miss it one bit. You are allocated two sunbeds and an umberella and we were given the front row every day, which meant we only had to stagger a few meteres into the sea. The beach was clean and well kept with plenty of room between the sunbeds (usually a bit of a gripe for me as I like to be in the shade most of the day and I need to keep moving my sunbed around). There is a lovely little snack bar overlooking the beach which serves drinks and light lunches and also a proper restaurant also overlooking the beach if you want a proper lunch. We ate in the snack bar a few time and although the menu isn't very varied the mozzerella salad was fabulous. We only ate in the restaurant at night once and it was reasonable priced and adequate. The breakfast is served in a restaurant two floors up which also overlooks the beach with a lovely outside terrace. The breakfast was plentyful and varied with sweet and savoury options and an egg chef who cooked to order. Overall this hotel was everything we were looking for and we would return in a heartbeat. The staff were wellcoming and helpful. We had a problem with the blind in our bedroom, we mentioned it as we went out to dinner and it was repaired by the time we returned. Excellent service. The hotel runs a shuttle bus from Agropoli for Euro 35 each way which is good value as it is about 20 minutes away and there is no train connection to Castellabate. I totally reccomend this hotel and fully intend to return next year. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

  Beachfront paradise

  We didn't have great expectations about this hotel, as it is modern, rather lacking in character. What a pleasant surprise, three nights in a junior suite overlooking the beach that had direct access from the hotel lifts and stairs. Very obliging, helpful and well organised staff . The breakfast was full of choice and breads, fruits and yogurts were replenished and the whole presentation looked clean and fresh.

  Newly remodeled 5 star experience

  Just returned from an amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Santa Maria. The sandy beach is pristine and it is within easy walking distance to the town. The whole hotel has been given a facelift and the rooms are spectacular. Our comfortable and stylish sea view deluxe room came with a huge multi feature rain shower, terrace and cool AC. The 2 restaurants on the property offer delicious local cuisine and exceptional service. In fact it is the friendly and attentive service that will bring us back here again. We are already planning our next trip!

  Lovely hotel in amazing location.

  This is our third trip back to Grand Hotel Santa Maria and will go again. The hotel is slowly being refurbished and we noticed some positive changes and stayed in a beautifully refurbished room. The best things about the hotel are the very friendly staff, the wonderful Osteria and bar right by the beach, and the location - with an amazing view of the sunset!!!
