  Surprisingly near-perfect

  I have lived and traveled extensively in Europe over the last 30 years. From Five star hotels to bed and breakfasts and campgrounds I have done most of it. This hotel was wonderful. It is a family-run hotel so the staff does not stay late. But, I arrived, without a reservation, at 8:30 pm and someone was at the hotel within 10 minutes to book me in. My room was sufficient and the bathroom was amazing! The shower was one of the best I have ever experienced. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The location was perfect - a short walk over the bridge to both Villeroy and Boch and the excellent local hiking trails. But the best thing for me was breakfast. I am celiac and often travel with half a suitcase of food, but the hotel breakfast was wonderful. I could eat from a large variety of cheeses, fruits, yogurt and even fresh vegetables. I suspect that even the cold cuts might have been gluten free but didn't want to take the risk due to a language barrier. The food was also organic and the orange juice freshly squeezed. I arrived at my table to find a personal welcome sign. Yes, the lady who does the breakfast does not speak English. And Yes, the building has the typical European light switches that turn off and you have to hit the ones with the little lights in them to turn everything back on again. But none of these were insurmountable obstacles. Overall I loved this hotel and would come back if I were ever in the area.

  Lovely and friendly guest house

  Have stayed here many times over the years, either in the main hotel or the apartments, and every stay has been great. Love the rooms, the shower rooms and the breakfast. The guest house is situated very conveniently for Mettlach or for walking along the river. The staff are very friendly even though not much English spoken, it is easily to get by. Highly recommended.

  Excellent!

  We arrived without booking late afternoon (June 2016) and were accommodated without any problem. The hotel is clean, well decorated and with the artwork themed in the rooms. All in all very pleasant and I would stay again without hesitation. Best of all a gluten free breakfast is provided free of charge and offers an excellent choice of food.   Lovely stay

  This is a great place to stay in Mettlach, right on the river and free car parking. Just a 5 minute stroll across the bridge and you are in the centre of Mettlach. The room was a good size with a large bathroom with powerful shower. Lots of extra touches in the room, foot & leg lotion and toothpaste as well as the usual toiletries and for men, hand cream and deodorant. Makes such a change for the complimentary toiletries to be geared towards the man. Water and chocolate is available for a small fee. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with everything available to set you up for the day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very good free wifi here. We loved our stay and hope to return one day.

  Overnight stay

  We were just looking for a place to sleep and the hotel was fine for that the room was a great size with a view of the river The ensuite was modern and bed comfortable The room decor was quirky - it was set up like a sports gym Not my cup o tea but each to their own The Town was the biggest surprise Its pretty much a homewares outlet Oh and the breakfast was really well done they have your name on the table with a really nice welcome Worth a visit
