  excellent for short business trip

  Stayed for 2 nights in Feb., 2016. The hotel is 10-15 minutes walking distance from main attractions (e.g. Kremlin) and 5 minutes away from the nearest metro station. Breakfast is nice - although coffee could be better, should the hotel management invest in a coffee brewer - food variety is okay and even includes famous local honey pastry. However, those with special diet needs (e.g. lactose-/gluten-free or lchf) may find it problematic to construct a normal breakfast, since almost every dish involves dairy and/or flour-based products. Special shout-out to the room size - it is enormous for a standard single room, almost twice as big as those in Europe. Wi-fi quality is excellent, not only for browsing the net, but even for watching movies in good quality. Definitely staying here next time.

  City visit

  Excellent city centre location close to main shopping street and surrounded by restaurants. About 15 minute walk to the Kremlin. Hotel was clean and modern. Breakfast was good. Staff didn't speak English but did there best to help us. Free car park under the hotel and a small but fun swimming pool with a powerful current jet.

  excellent location

  Clean room, very helpful staff, excellent location, good wifi in the lobby, wifi in the room was sometimes very slow. Breakfast acceptable, but not great. Minibar items are reasonably priced. Two of the lightbulbs in the room didn't work and the self service tea and coffee hasn't been restocked. Otherwise everything was fine.

  Recommend!

  I was in Kazan at the beginning of April with business visit to the Kazan Federal University. It was my first trip to this city. My colleague advised me to stay in Hayal. And I'm can say that it was a great advise. The hotel has an excellent location, in 5 minutes from the central pedestrian street of Bauman and the university. And very nice Hinkalnaya is just the next door ;) It is a modern 4* hotel with a very good trained stuff (Gulia, Polina and Nadya, thank you!). The stuff is really very friendly and kind. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, free bottle of water in every room, good breakfasts and pool, gym and sauna. Actually I tried all these offers and felt very satisfied. The breakfasts were good enough, but without something special - just usual 4* breakfast in a big place with a bar at the center. When I already checked out I asked Nadya (she is the manager at restaurant) to spend 2-3 hours with my laptop near AC plug. And this was accepted absolutely. The minibar was ok but it was strange a bit to find condoms pack near RitterSport chocolates and drinks :) The safe, robe, slippers etc are in the room as well. The bathroom was new, clean and equipped, even with nice harmless spider, which I did not kill, and left hanging from the towel (photo) :)) According my opinion price was absolutely reasonable for such level of service and care. I recommend it and will stay in Hayal next time.

  No frills, no thrills, but does the job

  The first impression when you walk into the Hayal is not a great one: a metal detector, architecture that reminds you of the aesthetic degradation that prevailed during the Soviet years, and then a look of amazement when you ask if they have no -smoking rooms. However, if you put those things aside, the Hayal provides nice ample clean rooms with good a/c, a good bathroom with a nice shower, and amenities that rise above what you would expect.
