  Terrible Bed

  We stayed here one night on route from SLC to SF. We had a king bed on the first floor and the bed was terrible -- really! I did not sleep well and neither did my husband. I cannot recommend this hotel. Also, this hotel is not a Hilton Garden Inn.

  The name sounds fancy, the style looks fancy, but it was in fact, not fancy!

  We stayed here for a few days never again! While everything seemed fine at first, we quickly realized it was not. While I understand theyre apparently not done fixing/remodeling the hotel, our stay was far from good. This is a former Hilton property, and while that wouldnt normally be something we would notice nor care about, there were remnants from its former namesake on the dial plates for phones in the room, and I even got an email from Orbitz telling me that the Hilton Garden Inn Elko sent you a realtime conversation notification, really you couldnt even change all your info properly with Orbitz? While the exterior of the hotel and lobby looked nice, that was the extent of the remodel that we saw. Our room was gross. I say that because the carpet in our room was stained in several places, and the room had a light smell of mildew. The tub faucet leaked, and moved around because the caulking around the base at the wall was missing. The shower head was DISGUSTING! It had so much water/calcium deposits on and inside of it, that several of the holes were clogged. The toilet seat was loose and almost came off in the middle of the night. The A/C made a loud thudding noise when we turned it on, and the front air intake cover was falling off. There was some sort of food stuck on the seat cushion of the chair. The desk had an oily residue all over it. The floor lamp behind the chair was going to fall apart if I used to much force to turn it on. And the beds were uncomfortably hard, and there was a noticeable sagging of the mattresses on the side of the bed that is next to the nightstand, so clearly havent been replaced in quite some time. A couple of minor inconveniences were that the ice machine on the second floor (our floor) didnt work. We asked the front desk about it and they said it was out of order because they were waiting on a part, yet they hadnt put up a sign indicating that it was out of order, nor was there one placed there before we left. Also, the view out of our room was of the hotels satellite dishes, and a few a/c units on top of the lobby area. Because of COVID-19 they offered a cold version of the continental breakfast which was fine. We were told it was a juice, bottled water, two granola bars, & fruit or a muffin. However, there was no fruit, they didnt have any juice, so it was just a bottle of warm water, & on the second day theyd run out of muffins. I get that it wasnt a full continental breakfast because of the pandemic, but dont say that its going to be certain things, and then not properly prepare to have those things in stock for paying guests during their stay. Also, on our first day when we were leaving around 9am, we walked by the business center and there was a man in there on a computer, eating and drinking. When we came back later that day around 5pm, we noticed that there were food packages and an empty water bottle sitting on the counter in there. Like seriously? I mean the guy should have cleaned up after himself, but you guys couldnt get someone to clean this up? The only positive thing was that the staff were friendly, but being friendly doesnt excuse the poor condition of the hotel, lack of proper food planning and quality of the guest experience. Overall, we werent expecting the Ritz, but this place was ridiculous. At this point, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

  Decent hotel

  Weve stayed here twice. Location is outside of town. Restaurant in hotel. Bag breakfast. Beds are very firm. Had a noisy guy above us who was awake at 4:15 getting ready for work. Elko has a lot of mine and road workers that stay. Frontage road gets busy early so stay on the south side. Reasonable rates.

  Glad it was only one night

  Should have trusted the first impression of the very rough opening front doors. The staff in the evening was pleasant and welcoming. The room smelled clean. Then... the bathroom... single ply toilet paper, not enough towels, and the shower head was stuck on massage. Thats not great when youre trying to wash your face. As we were leaving the morning clerk rudely asked me to place my cards in the basket, not on the counter. I had to ask about the breakfast bag the clerks the night before had told us about. She seemed very put off that she had to give up the bags. Breakfast bag means an apple, water and granola bar. We would always stay here on the way back from my sisters house when it was the Hilton. I dont think we will anymore.

  Beautiful property

  We stayed one night and were very impressed with the property - large, clean room and well priced! The restaurant was only open for lunch and dinner so we didn't get to try it out. Breakfast was not served due to covid restrictions, but they offered a "bag to go" which we delclined. We will stay here again for sure!
