Top stay in the middle of the Alps!

Stayed in this hotel for the New Years Eve. The hotel is close to the Obersee as well as the Weisshorn Skilifts. Its a perfect location for the lovers of Winter sports. Arosa is a small town with a lot of shops, but dont expect big brands like in St. Moritz, and also a great choice of restaurants (the majority of them on the Poststrasse). We reached the hotel by car and booked in advance, for a very reasonable rate, a parking in the garage. The hotel could look a little bit outdated but its absolutely very clean and staff top friendly and always smiling. A big plus of this hotel is the thermal area Solbad 33 which can be easily reached with the elevators from the rooms. In my opinion Solbad 33 is a big plus of this hotel. We booked half board treatment which was a great choice, food was always very good. Also a positive a note they assign you a table at the begin of your stay and you keep it until you leave. The hotel is managed by Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Georges both very friendly and very efficient in doing their job. The room was in part renewed, the room itself was ok with the superb view (also very clean) and with a large balcony. The negative part a very small bathroom directly from the 70! I suggest to renew the bathroom as soon as possible. Overall a very pleasant stay in the middle of the Swiss Alps. Strongly recommended and well managed by Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Georges!

    A great stay!

Good price for what you get. Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Pool inside and outside, sport and play facilities. Arosa is beautiful, but even with rainy weather you can have fun in this hotel. The rooms are not huge and not very modern, but I think that is why the price is affordable

Rooms are dated/parking impossible but top waiters/waitresses (thanks)!

Hen we booked we have been offered a possibility to book a parking space. Luckily we didn't book it as we after discovered that they did an overbooking of the parking spaces (so it would have been difficult to park). Rooms are dated with carpet- the bathrooms need some renovations. Pillows are very uncomfortable - if you have neck problems bring your own! Breakfast and Dinner were fine. I am celiac and the waiters/waitresses were really careful with my food (thanks a lot! Top service). Instead the guy at the reception (not the ladies) was always strangling to be polite...you could see from his attitude - not very professional for me. Spa was fine - very crowded though. During this Covid time they needed to limit the entrance but they didn't. Gym was basic.

Simple hotel, good location good food, great pool and sauna rooms are small and dated

We stayed there in Feb 2020 for 1 week. It is a simple and non complicated hotel, atmosphere super casual, people go in track suit for breakfast and sometimes even for dinner. Food is good but not as good as in the Arenas hotel Wengen where we stayed the previous year. Location is good, just a 5-10 min. walk to the shops and lifts. But still quiet alll around it. There are also some sledding slopes, you can rent a sled from the hotel for a fair price. Tip, for the really lazy ones there is the option to leave the skis and boots conveniently right at the next chair lift for a very low price for hotel guests. Like all the Arenas resorts there is a great heated pool area. SPA is good too. To note though it is open to non hotel guests too so it gets busy during high season especially. Guests seem to be mainly swiss German, I believe this is traditionally a Swiss chain. Resort is fabulous for skiing but for those who don't ski there are many other options, such as snow hiking - lots of trails around. We had a Valley view. However the mountain view which is cheaper is good too when high up.Only the valley view rooms have balconies, I believe. Our room was close to the lift to the SPA which was convenient. For the coming season we booked the Arenas in Montreux hope this will be a slightly higher standard, similar to what we had found in Wengen. Yet to see if travel will be feasible with the Covid situation.

    Good hotel in central Arosa

Having read previous reviews I had mixed feelings. But lets put it into perspective. The hotel is older, however I can imagine in the middle of winter it is the perfect ski hotel. The rooms are old but clean. The bathroom is pokey and the brown tiles could do with a refresh, but the power of the shower is great. if you are wanting to hang out in your room stay somewhere else but if you are hiking or cycling all day, and need a comfortable bed to sleep then this will fit you fine. Breakfast is usual Swiss fare, Ive had better but Ive also had worse.... The best thing about this hotel is the pool, the look on my daughters face with the lazy river, jacuzzi and everything else on offer was fantastic! Combined with mini golf, ping pong, play park, trampoline its perfect for the family. We stayed in summer and were the youngest by at least twenty years but we had an enjoyable weekend.
