  Lovely new hotel in great location

  I was very pleased with this hotel. Stayed there on a recommendation of a local. Location is really nice - right in the center of the city, few steps away from underground, shopping, and restaurants. Lobby is small, but efficient, as there are not so many rooms there. My room was nice and cozy. Smaller than what I'm used to, but still felt like plenty of space. Stayed in the corner room which offered double windows. Breakfast is very limited, but still filling. Espresso machine was broken one day out of my 6 day stay. Missed the omelet bar, but I guess it's not yet a standard for Kazan hotels. I frequented the restaurant for lunch and dinner as well, as I found the prices to be affordable, food delicious, and the environment very pleasing. One negative: the menu lists A LOT of dishes, but only has a handful options available. I tried to order 3 different things once only to find out none of them were available that day. Enjoyed having a smoking balcony on each floor as well. My wishes for improvement: more choices for the breakfast menu, REWRITE your restaurant menu to reflect items that ARE available, and offer some sort of points for frequent travelers.

  La comida en el restaurante

  Yo estaba allí por la celebración del aniversario de mi amigo. El lugar era acogedor pero sin aire acondicionado, de tal manera que éste estaba bastante cargado. Pero la comida estaba deliciosa. Tienen cocina europea y la comida local también. Prueba sus pequeños pays de carne con la sopa de pollo (se sirven juntos) !

  Lovely hotel, great room, great location.

  Stayed here when on a group tour, so had no idea what we would get, as hotels have been very varied. Lovely hotel, really pleasant room overlooking the street. Nice big windows that we could leave open for fresh air instead of stuffy airconditioning. Great bathroom but had a slight problem with no water when we first arrived, but that was resolved after a few hours. Would have given 5 stars if not for that. Lovely staff on reception, nice breakfast and a really great cafe downstairs too, that had very cheap, very good food. It has only three stars on a plaque at the front - its more like 4.5 stars. Highly recommend as not only was it a good hotel, it is located in a very convenient spot for walking around and shopping too. I would definitely return here. They also stored our bags for us after we had checked out.

  Not my cup of tea

  Hotel is on the main pedestrian mall so you have to walk from the street behind with your luggage to get to the front of the hotel. We arrived late in the evening so it was very quiet. The sleeping area was small with an unnecessarily large wardrobe taking up a lot of the space, leaving no where to put your suitcase. The bathroom was of a good size with only a shower which you had to step up into. The curtains are not blackout and in the summer it gets light very early, around 4am. In a double room we had only been supplied with one towel and one hand towel, so at 10.30pm I had to wander back down to reception to ask for another towel. I also had to ask for two pillow slips as the spare pillows didn't have any and the pillows on the bed were less than 3cm high. In saying that the bed was very comfy. The room was clean and quiet and we had a good sleep until the sun came up. Breakfast was very disappointing with limited choices. A small two slice toaster to toast packaged bread that had been cut in half, the only eggs available were boiled. Not my cup of tea.

  Close to Metro and Shopping

  Stayed here for 3 nights, reception staff spoke English and were friendly. Hotel is tired, our room had no curtains that completely closed which was an issue considering the sun rises at 3.30am and doesnt go down till after 9.30pm. Breakfast was continental but very ordinary in my opinion, coffee machine was jammed up against a wall which made access uncomfortable, no teaspoons for yoghurt or sugar, no jam or honey for toast, I boiled eggs and had on toast. We skipped breakfast on third day and headed to Starbucks for a drinkable coffee. There was no Laundry service and no iron in rooms, a must for me when away from home on a big trip. Our room was initially two single beds and I asked them to reconfigure into double, they did that but the linen did not fit, I just dont think they understand the concept. The rooms had no place for luggage either. The bathroom was okay but I thought the towels after first change smelt like smoke. I did stay till the end as it is close to metro which means one stop to Kremlin and night lights.
