  A simple but enough hotel

  Rooms are spacious, clean but simple. They provide self-laundry service which is good to travelers. Buffet breakfast but not many choices. Close to JR station, , and some other shrines, all within walking distance.

  Comfortable Hotel but very strict check in/out timings ...

  As there are not many Westernized hotels in Chichibu, we opted for this Hotel Route Inn as it was not too expensive and is very close to the Seibu-Chichibu train station (not the JR Chichibu station which is about 12-15 mins walk away!). In fact, this 8 storey tall hotel could be seen once you exit the train station. Walk in an L shaped manner and you could reach the Hotel in about 2 mins. Check in is strictly at 3pm, and check out, 10am. When we requested for a 10.30am check out, their reply was a stout, NO! Not very flexible indeed, but this is almost the norm at many Japanese hotels. However, they are fine with keeping our luggage both before and after checking in/out. Requested for a higher floor Twin room and we were assigned the highest Twin room on the 8th floor. At every floor, there are some kind of amenities provided, for instance, a microwave oven is located on the 2nd floor and free ice vending machine on the 5th floor. Thus, you could buy packaged cooked food from the supermarket and heat it up here. Our Twin beds were very comfy and room size, like most have said before, were slightly bigger than the Japanese norm. So we spent a very comfortable 3 nights stay at this Hotel. Windows are operable partially, allowing in fresh air as and when required - nice! Traffic noises are still quite visible being so high up and once all windows are closed, you could not hear a thing, thus good sound proofing! The free Wifi is fast and reliable, and there is a minibar in the room, even a clothes press! But no safes are to be found like in many Japanese hotels. Location wise, this Hotel is well located as you are only a 2 mins walk back to Seibu-Chichibu for trains and/or buses. Eateries also abound the Hotel. Our included breakfasts was a rather sumptuous affair, with slight changes taking place everyday. But most on offer are catered to the Japanese taste, which is why we come to Japan for in the first place, so we are truly happy indeed! For the Westerners, we could only see 3 types of bread rolls, and frankly, these are not very tasty. Overall, with very limited Hotel options in Chichibu, this Hotel is a very good bet indeed.

  Good hotel with basics

  I stayed here just for a day. The rooms are pretty basic however it is clean. The internet though is sometimes unreliable. The breakfast is decent and the staff is also very polite and helpful. Since it was a very short stay hence I dont have much idea about the location.

  Nice and compact hotel

  Very comfortable and not over budget friendly hotel in Chichibu city. Near Hitsujiyama Park and train station. Restaurants and convenient store are nearby and in walking distance. Small room but clean and good enough. Nice staff and service mind even somes can not speak English that much. Book direct for Lil more benefits like breakfast and free drinks. Only heater and fan provided. Ensuite bathroom with tub. Yummy breakfast! Parking lot available. Vending machine and laundry available. Good option for business hotel or even for leisure.

  Great option for westerners

  Great hotel option within walking distance from the train station. We took the 90 minute train from Shinjuku. You see the dark red, multi-storey hotel from the station. We were there to visit the Chichibu distillery. Great option to stay overnight. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed. Internet was good. Lots of variety for breakfast (some of which we didn't know what it was but tried it anyway). As another reviewer mentioned, they are VERY strict on the check in and check out times, but will hold your bags for you. Chichibu is such a lovely place to walk around in. Great restaurants too!
