  Great location, great food!

  We had a great stay at the Iglika. I booked it independently and had good email communication with the hotel throughout. The hotel is in a great central location and is great for the price. It's not luxurious but is very good. Our family room (2 adults & 2 kids)) was spacious, warm & clean. Fantastic location for the piste and shops. We used the ski storage room on site and cut through the Rila hotel in our ski boots to the piste each morning, perfect. Breakfast and dinner both plentiful and varied, I'd say it was mainly traditional Bulgarian style food, tonnes of delicious salads and spiced meats. I can't praise it highly enough. My 11 year old struggled a little with the food but the hotel always did chips and some plainer meats so he got by. Staff were all attentive, not overly smiley but I understand that's a cultural thing.... all very helpful.... especially the ski storage room guy. Only critisism would be the children's beds which were sofa beds and were sub-standard, creaky noisy springs which kept us awake the first night. Second night we re-arranged sofabed mattresses onto the floor and all slept well after that. Would definitely stay again.

  Very Good Hotel, Great Location in Borovets

  I really like the Iglika Palace Hotel in Borovets. This year was our third or fourth visit there. The Hotel is literally a 5-minute walk from one the ski-centres so you cannot have a better location for a hotel in Borovets for this price. It is a great value for money. They have free parking, which is certainly a nice added bonus as well. We were on half-board and there is always a variety of food. The hotel is quite popular and seems to be always quite full. It might get a bit noisy but it is the same everywhere I would say. The hotel has a pool as well, even though, I am not a fan of pools overall I gave it a try once or twice - the water is a bit cold but could be quite relaxing after a long day of skiing on the slopes. The rooms are always super clean and the staff is very friendly. I would certainly be going back again next year!

  Budget break to Borovets

  Booked online with Balkan holidays. Great deal and did not expect a lot.. but pleasantly surprised. Good warm room good facilities. Food has been good so far.. Staff are keen , happy and helpful so while it is basic it is perfect for what it is.. would recommend.

  Balkan holidays London and my stay in the hotel Iglika Palace

  This is my 25th trip to Bulgaria to Ski all with Balkan holidays London. I have visited the 2 other resorts in Bulgaria but for me Borovets is currently the best and the Iglika Palace the best hotel. I understand it is due a refit but that will not change the location nor hopefully the food quality and friendly service. So those wanting a good value and very satisfactory ski trip contact Balkan London & book for the Iglika Borovets. David Champion

  Ski hols

  Have visited and stayed many times in the resort of borovets but this was our first time at the iglika palace. The staff are friendly and courteous although there is a language barrier, but all smile warmly. The hotel is dated by western standards but the norm compared with other resort hotels. Very warm rooms ( window wide open) every night! The window sill was great for chilling the wine . We were half board ( breakfast and dinner) plenty of it, the same as any Eastern European really. Salads, pork, chicken, kofte, fish, pasta, and yes chips!. Dinner drinks are not included, however breakfast teas, coffee, juices are. There is a mandatory ski/board storage charge of 10 lev for the week. ( cheap as chips)this is located in the basement of the hotel and can be found either internally via the stairs or a lift or direct from the outside of the building. The ski depot also offer wax and full service for skis and boards again between 20/30 lev for full service. Showers were hot and only ran out briefly when on high demand but was back on within half hour. There is a pool downstairs which can be used between 4pm and 8pm. No no hairdryers !!! In the rooms so bring your own also no kettles either, however there is a complimentary hour of tea/coffee and cake everyday between 4pm and 5pm I took full advantage as Im a proper tea boy!!. The hotel is sited right behind the Rila hotel and if your a boarder you can walk from the iglika into the rear entrance of the Rila and out to the slopes at the front of the Rila. If you ski its a 5 min walk around the Rila hotel and up the Main Street. The iglika bar is friendly with enough comfortable seats , cocktails are good value as well as the local beers. I was informed by the Balkan rep that this hotel is going to undergo a full refurbishment starting at the end of this season 2020. A few photos from the slopes .
