  A bit faded, but fabulous food

  Don't even try to get here without a sat-nav unless you're an explorer! This is an old chalet-style hotel about 22km south of Passau (we thought it was nearer!). We arrived early and were given a rather gloomy room with traditional painted furniture overlooking an orchard. Interestingly, only net curtains.The furniture and fittings were old but the room was clean and the bed linen spotless. Great shower which belied its appearance. We decided to have dinner in the hotel as there didn't seem to be much else in the vicinity. What a good choice! No English was spoken in the hotel and "menu words" can be tricky! A delightful young lady ended up playing "menu Pictionary" and drew some items for us. Great fun, and the food was exquisite! Breakfast was also very good - standard continental fare.The food and fun more than made up for the room. An interesting experience!

  A holiday to be remembered

  I've just returned from a 6 day holiday in the Bad Fussing/Bad Griesbach area and cannot wait to share my impressions while still fresh and sharp in my mind. We planned not to stay in the rather expensive area of Bad Fussing and decided to bed at the Waldpension Jägerstüberl, 20 kms from Fussing. The countryside is so beautiful and our GPS took us through different routes to the various Bads in the region. We were greeted by eternally smiling Ms. Lidia Haslinger who explained the ropes of the place. The rooms are very clean, service is great and the food exquisite. Rooms large enough and the beds and pillows so very soft. The Pension is located in a small wood in the countryside. The menu very rich and not once were we told that a specific item was not available. Lunch and evening meals were served and the premises constantly full. We had difficulty understanding the German menu (hopefully they'll translate it to English) so Lidia translated it to Hebrew for us (Google translator so you can understand the amusement trying to figure out exactly what was being served, but we got the idea) Breakfast was a treat with fresh hot buns, ham, sausages of all sorts and fresh fruit. Cheese, eggs (medium cooked and scrambled), all fresh, cutlery spotlessly clean. The coffee was divine. As we had a plane to catch from Munich early this morning, we had to skip breakfast, so we asked Lidia if they could prepare a small basket for us. Well-small it wasn't. We were a party of 4. Each was supplied with 3 fresh buns with sausages, cheese, fresh fruit, chocolate, hard boiled eggs, bottled soda water. It was waiting for us in the lounge refrigerator. It was a delight and we all had a feast on the autobahn on our airport bound trip. The only grievance I have is that WiFi is available on the ground floor and the signal is too weak to reach the higher floors. They have a laptop available for public use but performance very poor. Bad Griesbach itself is a beautiful little village. You must visit the old market place square next to the church. So picturesque. We (a couple) paid 60 a night, tax inclusive, for bed and breakfast. If we decide to repeat our visit to that area, Waldpension Jägerstüberl in Bad Griesbach will certainly be our choice. Don't forget your GPS.

  A small hotel in quiet location

  Location of this hotel is perfect - outside of town, in the midle of the forest. It is amazing to feel such freashnes and breathe good air in the woods. However the hotel was clean, breakfast was very good and the staff was kind. I wish the staff would have better English skills, for the rest, I have no complaints.

  Great Stay in an Uncomplicated Environment

  We stayed 2 nights at the Waldpension in early January. The room we stayed in was really big with the minimum requirements needed - do not expect luxury. The place is very clean and cozy, making you feel at home. It is also nicely located, next to different walking paths and thermal baths.
