  Off Off Off the Beaten Track

  The biggest advantage of La Mada is also it's biggest disadvantage. It's location is simply in the middle of nowhere! If you're looking for a quiet (as deserted) and secluded place to write a book and not too picky about service and facilities - go for it. Otherwise, there are quite a few hotels in Nairobi that would be more central, less prone to traffic jams, more modern and offering much better facilities for more or less the same price.

  We spent Christmas lunch and night at the hotel and we loved the service from the staff to the food and the rooms. I must say that you have an amazing manager...Mr Martin...who personally took it upon himself to make sure we were settled,comfortable and answered all our questions.We loved his comittment to us as guests..Keep it up

  Great stay

  Stayed for 11 nights during business visit although the hotel is not high standard but staff and atmosphere gives a good feeling. Food though is not that great. It includes a bar, small restaurant, small pool, outdoor seating and place in the garden for small events. I would like to thank Martin the hotel manager for his professionalism. PS. Watch out for the monkeys...

  Uncomfortable and noisy

  We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights prior to the start of a Safari tour. The hotel is a bit dated and the beds were the worst I have ever had in a hotel. A stone wall is probably the closest thing one could compare the hotel beds to, so I barely slept for 2 nights. On the second night people at the hotel bar were incredibly noisy until way after midnight and non of the staff did anything about it even though the bar is just opposite reception. We had food in the restaurant one night and had to wait 2 hours for our food, which was also pretty bad, once it had actually arrived. No apology for the delay was given. The location is in the middle of nowhere and considering the price tag it is difficult finding anything positive.

  1 night stay at Hotel La Mada

  My family and I were stayed at Hotel La Mada for 1 night on 11 October 2017, before joining a safari tour that departed from there. The hotel is very comfortable and neat and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The drive from the airport takes you through bad Nairobi traffic, so the hotel feels like a getaway from all of that chaos. The air conditioning was working well, and bedding very clean. Catching a taxi from the hotel is easy and the staff arrange it on your behalf. The reception staff was very friendly and the dinner and breakfast was tasty. Also enjoyed an ice cold Tusker beer! I would stay at this hotel again. Recommend.
