  Minya hotel

  As part of a tour we stayed at the Minya hotel for just 2 nights. The hotel was excellent. The check in was seamless, the staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The breakfast had a fantastic variety of foods and was continually replenished. The location was perfect for our requirements but as Shanghai is such a big city it may not suit everyone. I would happily go back and stay there.

  Two nights only, Nexus tour

  Really nice hotel. Stayed for two nights on a Nexus tour in April 2017. Very comfortable. Breakfast had a great selection of tasty dishes. Air conditioning actually worked great!! Only problem was the minibar fridge was locked shut. (Probably due to being in tour group.) Better solution would have been to empty the minibar so it could be used by me for other items. (I like cold beer and water.)

  Great location and inexpensive

  Small foyer by Asian standards and no ATM - Bank of China two full blocks away. Rooms adequate - not large. Breakfast included with large range of Western and various Asian options. Handy to various attractions - 8km (and an inexpensive taxi to) Antiques Market of Shanghai Old Town. Just up the street on the corner is the "Welcomes Stranger"(sic) pot restaurant, fabulous value and also interesting (and modern). The hotel restaurant was woeful - maybe the food was OK but we left after experiencing the non existent service. The breakfast was very good.

  Good but not good enough yet

  I spent 3 nights here and I thought it would be a decently nice hotel in Shanghai. My AC was broken in the day, and it took more than 8 hours for the staff to fix it. It was quite frustrating as I asked the staff to fix it before my meeting, but it was not done when I returned at night. The food was all right, but there was literally only one restaurant. The room was all right but the lighting was too dim and dark, and some switches not working. I was required to pay the deposit, and it was fair until they forgot to update the system somehow. My laundry was taking longer than I was foretold, and I got to leave the next day. Then the housekeeping refused to release my laundry because the deposit was not registered in the system. I feel that it was unfortunate to have so many inconvenient incidents happened to me, and I think they should be able to do better.

  Great breakfast

  Hotel rooms very clean staff dont speak hardly any English breakfast here was fantastic we really enjoyed it think there was smoking rooms as there were ashtrays on our level overall good place to stay
