  Messed up on this one

  As a regular user of TA. I am still trying to work out how I ended up in such a poor hotel, miles from town, up the end of a dirt road. So let's be positive, if it was upgraded and there were shuttles into town, also they found someone to do a breakfast. Then it may upgrade to average. If you are unfortunate enough to end up here, make sure you keep a relationship with th etaxi that brings you here, otherwise it is a long walk. Can someone tell me if they have cleaned up the cat cr4p from around the pool yet ?

  Monsane? Insane!

  The approach from the main road is through what appears to be a cement quarry. Not a good start. But the establishment is nice enough. We booked online. The website is misleading. Our room overlooked the rusty roof of a neighbours house. The bedsheets were stained and nasty. Despite a cursory apology and apparent indifference of the staff to the dirty sheets, we decided to upgrade to one of the suites facing the river. Much nicer but quite expensive at around THB3,900. The suites are accessed by a flight of very steep metal stairs so don't go for the suite if you have heavy luggage. (No offers of help from the staff). The website showed images of people paddling kayaks on the river. When we enquired, the concessionaire was nowhere to be found and a solitary, disused kayak was left abandoned on the weed-lined shore (see picture). We passed on that idea. Included breakfast was ordinary. Cheap and nasty. Such a shame. Someone has put a lot of money into this establishment but seems to have let it fall into disrepair. More importantly, they have forgotten that the essential element of hospitality is the training of staff. First time and last time here.

  Never will I come back again.

  We are staying here for one day and leave tomorrow to find another hotel. The sign along the road is so hard to see. We got lost and have to take many turns. It's far away from the town(kinda boring), very dark room,(It's HORRIBLE!) and smelly..good thing about this hotel is that the staffs are kind and very close to the River Kwai Bridge but I will never come back here again.

  Monsane Resort, impression

  It's nice to be there, me and my husband so satisfied on that date. We are thinking if we have a chance to travel to Kanchanaburi we will stay at Monsane again. It's silent and very nice to stay in a clam and cool place.

  Superb Location

  The hotel location is very great although their room arrangement does not take advantage of this blessing. The room is clean but quite small. The food is OK. The entrance is a little bit rugged but not far from the main road.
