  Quick overnight stay

  I stayed at the Mukammal hotel while on a quick overnight business trip from Almaty to Astana. The staff was helpful and the lobby displayed some interesting artifacts. I did not spend much time at the hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable with a view of an apartment courtyard. I did not eat at the hotel. The hotel did not seem near much of the city attractions, but it was a short drive.

  Overnight stay and nothing more

  Stayed at the hotel several times overnight btw flights and made sure for myself the hotel is only good as one night stay hotel. I had a single room nonsmoking but a cigarette smell was all over, could be due to poor insulation btw smoking and nonsmoking rooms. Rooms are tiny, don't look freshly cleaned. A good thing about it, the hotel provides with toiletries which is good, toothbrush and shampoo... Generally- not impressed. The very first arrival- a receptionist, a young guy could hardly speak any Russian which made it difficult to understand each other. On my checking out they checked up the minibar in my room and claimed for some missing items which I didnt take. Please make sure that when you move in to your room the minibar is full as per the assortment list, otherwise You may end up paying for something you didnt take. Breakfasts- really poor.

  No INternet, No Service, No Hospitality

  I have written over 180 reviews on Trip Advisor and believe in the power of feedback. I hope you find my review helpful. Someone at work recommended me this hotel. I had a room on the 6th floor. Luckily, I have my own hot-spot device. But even so, I'm paying for internet. The front desk was unhelpful and they had a poor attitude. They told me to try turning my computer on and off several times? Really? Maybe I should kick it, too? As a professional businessman who has traveled the world, I know how to use a computer. It's insulting for them to tell me to bring the computer downstairs so they can inspect my computer. There is one-bar signal once in a while...otherwise, no signal at all on the 6th floor. I was able to find signal in the basement during breakfast. The room's AC does not work. They advised me to open the window. Even with it 55 degrees outside at night, the room did not cool off and I had to listen to traffic all night and in the morning. They couldn't care less. The breakfast was poor quality. Not sure what kind of porridge that was, but it tasted like rice boiled in milk for several days and a ton of sugar added. The milk was room temp. One kind of meat...some bologna looking meat. I didn't know the eggs were eggs until the woman working there told me. There was a rice dish void of flavor. Just not good quality. The bed was small, stiff and there was only 1 pillow. I personally like 2 pillows. They only give you 1 key, even if you ask for a second, and the key is required to power the room. I guess it didn't matter since nothing worked. I asked to change rooms the following morning and they obliged. No apology. Very mechanical and without emotions. Transactional at its finest. No smiles. Last but not least, my biggest pet peeve is poor water pressure and rapidly changing temperatures. This hotel had both. Not a good shower experience. And you could not take a bath as the mechanism to change the flow of the water was broken. The hotel looks and feels old. They say no smoking, but I could smell smoke in the hallways. Yes, this is a budget hotel, but to claim 4 stars is a joke. I would never stay here again. And for the person that recommended this hotel to meet at work...for now on I'm sticking with Trip Advisor.

  Located just off a main road, and overlooking a fairly dreary square this is definitely a no-frills place to stay. Our room was small, beds hard & small, bathroom small and basic (though it had hot water). Breakfast basic. Quite a long walk to city centre. Bascically OK, though you wouldnt want to soend your honeymoon there.

  Hotel was ok but they made me pay again for a prepaid room

  The hotel was warm and clean. My room was already paid by my travel agent and I was made to pay again. A bit of a rip off.... Receptionists deny getting the money I have them. I would not recommend this place
