  Great little hotel!

  We have just returned from a week's stay at the Reissenlehen hotel near Berchtesgaden. It was a very enjoyable stay, although it probably isn't really a 4 star, but definitely a very good 3 star hotel! Nice, good size double room with small balcony with beautiful mountain views. Bathroom minute, but perfectly adequate! Very friendly and helpful staff, nice Wellness area, especially the indoor pool which also offers glorious mountain views. Good food, although very short mealtimes! Kitchen closes at 7.30 pm and if you're not seated before then, you've missed it! We also found it rather strange that they didn't seem to have enough tables in their dining room for when they are fully booked! This meant that we found ourselves sharing quite a small table at breakfast and dinner with other guests which is not really what you expect in a 4* hotel! It wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't ended up sharing with someone unusually 'grumpy'! The Berchtesgaden area is absolutely stunning; if you love mountains then this is the place for you! All in all, we certainly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would quite happily stay there again.

  Superb Bavarian Hospitatlity with a Stunning View

  My wife and I chose this hotel in Berchtesgaden for its hilltop location and view of the Alps, but it was far more than a location. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was generous and superb. Although it is a hotel and it specializes in spa treatments, it is operated like a guesthouse. You do need to learn some local German (Bavarian) customs and be able to speak some German (many options online) before you arrive, since the staff speaks little English. But, that is part of the fun if you want to step into the local culture. Do the best you can and also say "Ich spreche ein wenig Deutsch (the way it sounds, which is different from how it is spelled), and smile a lot. They will help you. From this wonderful place you can see historical and beautiful Berchtesgaden. Take a trip to Salzburg, Austria from here (location of the story of The Sound of Music and Mozart performances).

  Very relaxing few days!

  This hotel is in a wonderful location near to many attractions. We used it as a base for two days. It is near to Salzburg, The Eagles Nest, Konigsee and the Salt Mines. The rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep on the great mattresses. The traditional German cooking was wonderful as was the breakfast. This is a great hotel to enjoy all that this gorgeous region has to offer!

  Nice location, but with limitations in the service

  We were for a weekend in the hotel. It s nicely situated on a hill with a beautiful view on the mountains around Berchtesgaden (Jenner, Kehlsteinhaus,...) It's a four star hotel with indoor pool, wellness area (we didn't check - the weather was just too good) - Breakfast is very good and the rooms equipment ok. - But walls in our suite were thin as paper. every morning we were woken up by the people in the rooms aside - dinner times between 18:00 - 19:30 (with a very strict end!!!) are a joke - and its difficult to get a drink from the bar after that. they shut everything down. - an you have to share your breakfast table with strangers In our view it was disappointing, because the prices were definitely four star,

  Very pleasant stay

  We - a family of 4 - stayed at this hotel for a week in February 2017 when we were on a skiing trip to Berchtesgaden. We arrived very early but were immediately checkef in to out very spacious, clean and comfortable room. Through out the week we made use of the very nice facilities of the hotel including the spa and wellness area. We were on half pension and both the breakfast buffet and the three course dinner at night were of good quality. The traditional cuisine of the area is tasty but on the heavy side, so we were pleased to find fresh fish on the menu twice. The hotel is beautifully situated in a very convenient distance to both the town of Berchtesgaden and the various skiing areas. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and attentive - also to children. Only thing we missed was a sitting area with comfortable furniture (sofas etc) and a fire place where guests could relax and converse after the skiing. We are definately returning - also in the summer time.
