  Good for families with children but a nightmare for adults.

  I believe the high reviews of this hotel comes from families with small children as there is a waterpark built inside the resort. Otherwise this hotel is very poor overall. First of all its old. Its nothing like pictures on their website or advertisement. You can almost call it false advertisement. Furnitures and decore look like something from 20 years ago. Colors are faded or dull; nothing really stands out. Subsequently, its filthy. I dont think the carpets on the hallway and the room is vacuumed or cleaned as there were bits of plastic on the floor and used q-tips upon entering the room. There were several stains on the carpet as well. Lastly, the customer service needs major improvement especially when the hotel is busy. The front desk and the concierge are unreachable over the phone most of the time. Therefore we have to physically get there and ask. Things get done very slowly here. I would recommend staying over at other resorts especially in the Tumon area.

  Nice description, poor execution

  I wanted to like this place, I really did, but the negatives just outweighed the positives. While it was nice that the room had 2 king beds, they might as well have been marble slabs. VERY Asian oriented and SUPER hard. I had to get massages to be able to work out the kinks. Also, each room is TILE, no carpet, which means that you hear EVERY scrape of a chair or footstep, not only above you, but around you. Take into account that the rooms look like they were built in the 60's and not upgraded, the dust coated sprinkler and vents, and the dime size hole in the shower caulking (I'm positive the room below us had massive water damage), and the rooms just aren't worth it. DO NOT, repeat DO NOT rent jet skis. GO NEXT DOOR to the Santa Fe. We asked the front desk multiple times if the jet skis were guided or outside the reef, and were told that once the instructor was comfortable, they would let us go on our own. Come to find out, that meant that they let us take thee jet ski's around in a 200 meter circle only, for 30 minutes. Around and around. 15 minutes in and my kid was bored. TOTALLY DECEPTIVE! When we complained to the front desk, they assured me that they'd talk to the manager and that the manager would call us the next morning. They didn't. They ignored us. No call for three days. They sure asked for payment quickly on check-out, though, and because we were checking out, the manager "wasn't there". The water park is nice, but it closes at 5, so you can't relax in the lazy river after a day of exploring. Kind of disappointing. Avoid this place. You'll be glad you did. Hit the Sheraton.

  Beach lack of management

  first of all, Im sorry for the following negative comments about the beach of this hotel. I love the water park, love the hotel and the staffs. but not the beach! 1. Gas smells all over the pool area in early morning, and around 5pm when they are opening/ closing the Marine Club. Jet ski and other motors are running around the beach, the smokes are not very healthy for everyone there. 2. Swimming/ snorkeling with fishing hooks and no one cares! Some people fishes around this beach everyday, yes, everyday! they dont care about their fishing hooks while youre snorkeling/ swimming/ kayaking around them. I tried to tell one of the staff, he told me I arent Beach life guard, go find the beach life guard. True story! 3. No beach life guard on duty, I didnt see one at all. 4. Bad attitude toward the tourists. people who works in marine club is running this onward hotel beach, driving jet ski all around the beach in early morning, accelerating their jet ski circling around the whole area to attract people, and slowly move to the jet ski area. some of them got bad attitude toward the guests. (no, take two step back, stay in the line, I dont like people standing too close to me, get your life vest back before your turn). Its the rule and I respect that, but with that attitude. and you know how Asian replies, of course all they say was sorry, sorry sorry. I dont think this is healthy. 4. Dont stay on the beach and dont you think you can lie on the beach, play with the sands here. This beach right in front of the hotel is being used by transporting their water activities motors. Tire trails everywhere, if you lied on the beach, you might get ran over by those cars carrying jet ski / and other tools if you dont watch it carefully. Overall, this hotel has bigger room space size compare to those beach hotel near by Tumon bay. Water park is awesome, I liked it very much. Im so sorry I had to comment on the beach management since its called Onward Beach Resort. you gotta have a clean, usable beach environment. I strongly recommend Onward Beach Resort establish an under cover team to check on marine club staffs manners toward tourist, and of course they need to hire a team of people who manage the beach better. true story, true experience, if youre aiming for the beach experience, take a step back and read thru all the reviews. If you aim for the water park for your kids and family, this hotel is the dopest place to stay as long as you ask your kids not to walk near the beach alone.

  Water Park

  Got tickets for Water Park access for only $15, spent the day enjoying with kids. Lunch is pricey its best to get the burger deals or hot dogs outside in the hallway. You must rent towels for $5 down and get $2 back so bring your own!
