  Lo mejor de Pori

  Situado junto a la Plaza principal y la zona comercial. Tiene dos edificios, uno a cada lado de la calle, se accede por un tunel interior. El edificio principal tiene recepcion y restaurante. En el otro, las habitaciones son muy amplias y modernas. Me dieron una habitacion superior muy grande y me encanto la mecedora super moderna. Desayuno super completo. Wifi muy bien.

  Realmento no esperabamos encontrarnos con un hotel tan bonito, ya que habiamos conseguido la habitacion a muy buen precio via el sitio Destinia (pagamos U$S 75) El hotel esta magnificamente ubicado en pleno centro lo que facilita recorrer la ciudad en transporte publico. El hambiente nos encantro la entrada es muy original y la atencion fue muy atenta.

  Hotel céntrico, con buenos servicios. Dispone de dos edificios uno a cada lado de valle , que se accede por un túnel dentro del hotel. Habitaciones cómodas y buena wifi. Desayuno buffet correcto. Y personal muy amable.

  Very central and historical location

  The location of the hotel is very historical. The childhood home of Akseli Gallen-Kallela, the world-famous Finnish painter, was located where the hotel is situated nowadays. The new building was constructed in 1938. Restaurant and hotel operations started in 1939. The first electric sauna of Satakunta Province was opened in the hotel in 1947. Every room got an own bathroom and an own radio in 1966. We had a Superior room and this review is based on it. There are different Superior rooms in the hotel. Our room was accessible for wheelchairs, too. We had motorized (adjustable) beds, a sofa bed, a large bathroom, a self-adjustable air-conditioning machine, a safety deposit box, an iron, an ironing board, a minibar and a television. The bathroom was larger than in other Superior rooms but water pressure was too low. Our room was located on 5th floor and we didn't hear any noise in the night. However, notice that the hotel has several different wings. So rooms and conditions may be very different in other parts of the hotel. The location of the hotel is very central. There is a parking hall under the hotel (15 euros per day, limited parking places). There are several bars or restaurants in or next to the hotel. The breakfast room (Restaurant Satakunta) is large and stylish. Besides, the breakfast was very delicious. You can buy local food products (e.g. fresh bread, fudge, honey, sea-buckthorn juice, sea-buckthorn jam) from the breakfast room. There are a very small shop corner and a small cafeteria corner at the hotel reception. The gym (the fitness room) of the hotel is open 24/7. They also have a sauna but they haven't any swimming pool. Service was very kind in the hotel. However, notice that if you stay in the hotel several nights and you want your room to be cleaned, you have to order the cleaning from the reception the day before. It is included in your room price. So you don't have to pay it.

  Nice hotel with good breakfast in downtown of Pori

  We stayed in Sokos Pori on the occasion of my boyfriend's birthday. I mentioned this in reply on the booking confirmation and the staff surprised us with a small gift in the room, highly appreciated! The receptionist was very kind and gave us tips on places to visit in and around Pori. It was not mentioned, but it seems we got a room upgrade: we had a big room with sitting area. The toilet was separated from the shower. The breakfast was extensive and offered also quite some gluten free and vegan options. Tip: you can park the car for free within 3 min walk of the hotel on Pohjoispuisto.
