  Great value and location

  The Port Arthur Motor Inn was a wonderful place to stay following our Three Capes Walk. Clean, comfortable and a great location. The historic site can be seen from the hotel. It was lovely and quiet, and the hotel staff were very helpful.

  Basically good but parts bizarre!

  Great location on the Port Arthur site with your room key giving you access. Rooms clean and comfortable and opening onto a verandah overlooking the back of the site. The reception office stayed shut the whole time we were there. Just keys left in the doors of our rooms The information folder only contained very outdated and contradictory information and the "manager" was very rude when contacted by phone to try and find out the wi-fi password. Kept insisting it was in the information folder, which it wasn't. The rooms weren't cleaned or beds made for the two days we were there. The restaurant had basic pub food with very erratic service especially from a waitress who seemed more suited to working on an outback cattle station. The continental breakfast , included in our 2 night package, was a sad disappointment. Individual service rather than buffet, undrinkable luke warm weak grey coffee, cold toast, apricot jam in packet rather than marmalade requested. We did get bowls of nice fresh fruit but only when we were leaving. Basically location fantastic, rooms fine but the whole place in need of a serious revamp with new management.

  Great Value

  We stayed here on a package deal which included accommodation, dinner, breakfast and a ghost tour. The room was clean and comfortable. Dinner was served in the restaurant and was excellent. A continental breakfast was offered in your room. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Port Arthur Historic Site can be seen from the Motor Inn but alas you can no longer access the site directly. This was disappointing as it would have been very convenient for the ghost tour. Not the hotel's fault but the Historic Site might want to reconsider their actions.

  Decent value and good restaurant

  This is a motel which backs directly on to the Port Arthur Historic Site. It's showing it's age a little; has a definite 1980s feel, but it's perfectly-well maintained and comfortable for the price. The on-site restaurant was excellent for dinner - bookings in peak season are a must.

  Value for money

  Exactly as described. Basic accommodation that was very clean, a little outdated and very hard bed but everything you need. The back deck has the most picturesque views and we had a very quiet relaxing afternoon soaking this in. Well located for the port Arthur historic site and access to other parts of the island.
