  2* Agriturismo time stopped 1975, potentials but poorly managed, old bathroom, low value, slow Wifi, no AC!! in rooms

  Somehow it seems that 1975 or so time has stopped in this Quinta which seems it was a real Jewel of Ribatejo - now it's more a museum. Rooms are very simple: no TV, beds are only 1,8m long worn, cover sheets old with stains and holes. Bathroom definetly needs update (even everything was working properly) - yes towels were new and very good... There is no AC in rooms, just a fan! The biggest problem we had was to sleep but that's the main reason to book a hotel, isn't it? At 7am our neighbours woke up and started to talk outside in front of our room. Most "Rooms" are motel style in old stable area so when you are out of your room you are on the courtyard. Courtyard is nice but covered with gravel, so this might be normal for the region but when it rains and also in summer it's just not convenient to walk (or drive your car). Remember the gate is very tight and your car might not fit through (Meredes E-Class I suppose doesn't fit). The Pool actually a jewel from the golden days of this Quinta but well maintained, great place to relax. Breakfast was the worst in our 18 days tour: only coffee, milk, bread, ham and cheese plus jam (and cornflakes), orange huice from Lidl. Wifi works fast only in the winecellar (wines from 1975! are stored there), in the stable rooms there was signal but very very slow (ISDN like) In a nutshell: this place has lot of potentials due to its original items, rooms, buildings. It seems that just money is missing in this forgotten flat und touristically not much interesting area of Portugal (Ribatejo close to the Tejo). Rooms need update with proper installations (new bathroom, AC, Wifi), courtyard to be covered with stones and breakfast a bit extended. They charge between 60 and 65 which is by far too expensive to what they offer, we have stayed in much better places for 50-55 and for 65 this has to be more than now! Restaurant tip: go to "A Grelha" in Santarem (you won't regret)
