  Nice place to stay with a wonderful staff

  I have been staying here for two months now during my relocation. Just love the location of the hotel as it is close to the airport where I work. The rooms are nice and the staff is wonderful. The food is great and it is close to outlet stores. Quick commute to the airport.

  Highly recommend if youre golfing at MH

  This is a very well run hotel and would come highly recommended if you had a reason to be in the area (e.g. golfing), but I'd stick to Haikou or Sanya otherwise. If the shopping centre (<2 minute walk) had just a couple Western options (there are non except for pizza hut, which has a menu that features banana and pineapple pizza, etc.) you could consider this location as weekend destination but Chinese are certainly the target audience so don't get your hopes up. The gym/pool area are beautiful and state of the art (part of the Ritz) and the locker room features a steam sauna and large jacuzzi tub. The only real knock on the hotel was the food. There was a good variety at the hotel restaurant -buffet style for breakfast (free) and dinner 160 rmb- but the quality of the food was only average. The shopping centre(<2 minute walk) also offered food but as previously mentioned, these were all disappointingly second-tier Chinese offerings.

  Poor quality of dinner buffet

  Poor planning by the restaurant. When my party of seven arrived at the restaurant at 630pm 23 Dec, for the buffet dinner that was included in my room package, I was informed that a group has booked the venue and that the spread would be less than usual. My party and I thought we would probably be fine and could make do with what was available. As time passed, and the group which the venue was catered for began to clear, I noticed that the food items were not being adequately replenished. As we were about to leave at around 730pm, many of the serving pots were pretty much empty and have remained so for some time. It seemed as if there was no intention to replenish the food items and looked as if the restaurant is about to close for the day. If I were a paying customer on this occasion, I would probably be livid. The food spread was poor and the quality was highly questionably, especially for the price. While the manager at that time did try to remedy the situation, it was still an unexpectedly disappointing experience. Compounded by the fact that I had a prior bad experience at the Chinese restaurant in the sister property, the Ritz next door, Id be hesitant to patronise the hotel again.

  Wonderful view but some facilities are closed

  I visited in May. The hotel was relatively new and rooms are modern with a lovely view of the golf court. However their fitness center was closed without any alternate options due to Covid-19. But all other hotels in Hainan I visited in May all opened their gyms without any problems. Other than that, the experience was okay. Hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was wonderful though I was expecting more options.

  Exceptional stay

  The hotel was a bit far off from downtown Haikou but didi is cheap anyway so it wasnt a big issue. We were upgraded because of our Marriott Bonvoy titanium status to a suite that comes with a washer which was very convenient during travel. The breakfast selections were wide for a Renaissance and the room rate we paid.
