Single rooms quite small and to the backyard, but clean and nice staff

I was there for business and found the single bedroom a bit small and sticky with a view to the backyard. However, everything was clean, staff was nice and breakfast was good except for the coffee (no variations). The lady offered to prepare fresh scrambled eggs, which I find a nice service. From looking at the building outside, I would have expected a bit more romantic athmosphere inside, but on the plus-side it is ideally located close to the train station and the centre, so I would recommend it.

    Right price, right location

Travelled for business and spent 4 nights here in September 2017. First room was front with a balcony, very small, but comfortable and very clean. The balcony door was broken and I was promptly moved to another room facing the side street (no balcony). This room was slightly larger, very comfortable and provided all I needed for an enjoyable stay. It is located a five minute walk from nearest parking garage (16 euro per day parking cost) and an easy walk to the shopping district, the casino and all restaurants downtown. The breakfast each morning was very well presented and plentiful, with attendants very friendly and attentive keeping my coffee cup full. There is an attached full service restaurant, but I did not dine there. Will stay here on my next trip..easy access in and out of town...about 35-40 minutes from Frankfort Airport (depending on traffic & weather conditions). Highly recommend this hotel for your next Wiesbaden adventure!

    favored? Hotel Hansa

this was booked FOR ME as it was a very busy time in the city. It has been a very long time since I have last had to stay in a dump. Something positive before I start the down sides: the room seems quiet - having said this i just heard someone walk above my room so obviously only quiet when the neighbors above aren't in. where to start describing? well at check in! the first impression you get from a hotel is the check in. you need to climb up stairs to reach the entrance (don't ever stay here with somebody who has difficulty walking or carrying! as you cannot expect the least help from the staff). You do not get - even a fake - smile. You do not get a - even if they aren t really interested but something you learn at any hotel school - "how was your trip" or even a very simple "welcome". Nothing of the kind. I had quite a bit of luggage and was carrying a lot in my right hand, hence when i was shuffed a form to fill in under my nose with the ruff order "fill this in", i kindly asked whether I could possible dictate my address as i had a lot to carry and was very tired from my journey - here was another chance to say something empathetic or at least pretending to care about the journey but no, instead i got a "no i must not fill this in for you, you have to fill it in yourself" - i remarked they had funny policies here not allowed to help their guests...with professional coldness this was just ignored. Then i inquired where the lift was and there were more steps to climb before the lift appeared, I obviously struggled with my heavy luggage but again no help to be expected even though there was no other guest at all there to attend to! I went on the floor my room number started with as this is the obvious thing to do, however when i started walking along suddenly there was a sign pointing behind a door and i had to climb down two stories again - with all my luggage! there were dirty carpets on the way there and it feels more like being in an unfriendly youth hostel than at a hotel. the room is spacious enough but has PLASTIC curtains with asian looking signs painted on them. Normally I feel at home in the hotels I stay in as I travel SO MUCH that hotels feel like home - here I feel extremely uncomfortable - of course I cannot even order room service or bath robes or any of the normal amities of the kind of hotels I usually stay in. You have to mind the stars a hotel has of course, but friendliness and helpfulness and assistance to guests should not be star related as it is taught at any hotel school. I cannot comment on the breakfast yet as I have not tried it out. And I don t expect they would have a spa area in this hotel so no comment on this part of normal hotel review either. In fairness, I have not met any other staff who might be better trained or simply friendlier and I do not know the circumstances with the one staff member I met - the person might have been ill or had just experienced some personal tragedy - this just in fairness.

    High Quality Beautifully Restored Hotel

This 130 year old hotel is beautifully updated. I was astonished to find museum art prints on the walls - Kandinsky, Salvador Dali, etc. Very good quality breakfast and very nice and helpful staff. France 24 and DW in English on the TV. The New York Times was in the lobby. Good location near the historical center of Wiesbaden. Cannot imagine a better hotel for the price.

Good location - Otherwise quite average

I stayed here for one night during a business trip and here's a quick recap. Good: - Well located, both near the centre city and the train station - Friendly reception staff Not so good: - No air conditioning which means a very hot room in August - The room feels old/outdated (stayed on 1st floor) - Street noise is quite loud so I didn't want to open to window because I couldn't sleep because of the noise. I eventually opened the window at midnight because it was too hot to sleep. Woke up at 6 when traffic was so loud I had to close the window again. Good to know: - Bathroom only has soap/shampoo dispenser, bring your own conditioner - Breakfast has quite a lot of variety
