    Looking forward to staying again

Great location, brilliant views, clean, modern and great value. I booked a one night stay in June, before the height of the tourist season, principally to see the Stelvio pass. Very happy with the accommodation, in addition to which the evening meal I had as part of the "halbpension" arrangement was delicious and, at EUR15, very good value. The Stelvio pass is the second highest in Europe and very impressive. I look forward to returning in better weather.

Great Hotel with superb food. Fabulous location for the Stelvio Pass

This hotel and restaurant is situated in the main street of the village of Stelvio. Easy to find and almost spot on with a navigator too. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and we checked into our room with no fuss whatsoever. The hotel is family run and it seemed that granny was on duty at the reception and made us a lovely cup of coffee on arrival. This was well appreciated after just over 3 hours driving on our motorbikes. The temperature was up in the low 30s outside but the room was cool which pleasantly surprised us. The view from our room was quite spectacular. The room had an old fashioned charm to it and the walls and ceiling were decked with wood. Really quaint and not shabby at all. The bathroom was very clean and although not large it was fully functional. Food at the hotel was excellent. We had prepaid for this and we were treated to a 5 course meal. The owner does the cooking and his good lady wife serves the meals. The dishes were all fantastic without exception and the service was second to none. Definitely 5 star value for the food and service alone. Everything was typically Tyrolean and was of the highest quality. Normally I am a very fussy eater but everything on the menu was to my liking. They also do provide an ala carte menu should anyone have a problem with the standard 5 courses. The breakfast the next morning was self-service buffet and there was a good choice of food and plenty of rolls and bread to compliment the various cheeses, ham, sausages, eggs fruit and cereals. There is also wifi available but not in-room. Bar area and reception only. Would we stay there again? If we happen to be in that area Most definitely.

    Went Above and Beyond

We stayed in Stilfserhof in early October 2015, when an impending snowstorm prevented us from staying in the hotel at Stelvio pass. The staff at the front desk was very nice, and set us up with a large, clean room (with a very large, well maintained balcony). The decor is a little dated, but everything was clean and nothing was worn out. The restaurant was closed, but they gave us a great recommendation for an alternative for dinner. We had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, which was quite good, and included pastries, fruit, sliced meat, juice, tea, coffee, delicious hot chocolate and some truly fantastic fresh bread. We got on the road pretty early and after driving 400km, I realized that I had left my brand new (one day old) jacket, my hat, scarf and expensive sweater hanging on the hook behind the door in our room. Turning back was impossible, as we had over 1000km to cover. The staff at the hotel were very understanding, and went out of their way to make sure I got everything back (nicely folded, too!).

    Ski-holiday with my family

So by myself and also my family I'm so happy. This exact hotel is maybe 3stars, but from my point, it deserves more. Stay was really good, everything works and you could feel that family atmosphere from that place. The two best things are definitely - the stuff which works here, and you can see how much they love their work. - and the food, omg, that's Italian cuisine = easy but brought to perfection, we fall in love with head-chefs Fabian work! I can sincerely recommend staying here to everyone.

    Stelvio 2019

Stayed here for two nights on our way to do the Stelvio Pass, on our motorcycles. The views are stunning and the location is great. The rooms we had were very good and the breakfast also very good. The rooms were clean and tidy. We did have an evening meal here on one night, the meals were also excellent. One point I have never seen mentioned, was the flies. There are lots of them..................Everywhere, inside and outside the hotel. A couple of UV zappers wouldn't go amiss, to cut the fly population down a fair bit. Maybe it was the time of year, or the weather conditions. As we were staying only two nights, the fly issue wasn't a great problem, but if you were staying longer, then it could be. Other than that, the staff were very helpful, if a little unsure about how long our booking was for and how many people were in the party.
