  Genuine family feeling

  Beautiful little hotel with a very nice and warm family feeling to it. Very nice staff. Tasty breakfast. The house is old with beautiful wooden floors and wooden doorpost ornaments. The stair is creaking, as it should in an old establishment. Lovely art works in the hotel and every room is unique. Perfect walking distance to Little Ceasars Arena, Comercia Park & Ford Field.

  You can get a NICE ROOM elsewhere for $250 a night!

  Room was cold. Very cold. NO thermostat in the room. Bedding was not good and the "blanket" is a duvee/comforter that is not changed between guests. VERY NOISY. Receptionist yelling on her phone downstairs until 3 AM. Sounds like a train in the room whenever someone runs the water. We left after one night. No mention, of course, of any reimbursement for our second night.....Avoid this place

  Beautiful B & B Ill never return to.

  In planning a trip to watch the Detroit Redwings play the appearance and location of The Inn at 97 Winder caught my attention so we booked it. With first impressions being very important my first impression was not good because I had to wait in line to park my vehicle at The Inn at 97 Winder because their parking lot doubles as event parking. They stack the cars in the lot like books on a shelf and the parking attendant that I encountered questioned me for being to early for check in at the Inn when I had already gotten approved by the Inn for our early arrival. The Inn at 97 Winder is beautiful to see, staff is great, but not worth the cost. We stayed in room 32, it had no WiFi, television channels faded in and out and Ive had much better breakfast at cheaper chain motel / hotels. Both bedside lamps didnt work, they claim on their website to be 78 steps from Little Caesars Arena and thats totally not true but with that said its still conveniently located and the road noise from I-75 made for a very restless night. To sum it up this was by far the most Ive paid for an overnight stay and that wasnt a problem until we actually stayed there. If want to see The Inn at 97 Winder ask for a tour but dont stay until they address these issues..especially the parking !

  Bad first impression - Limited Ammenities - Overpriced

  Where to start? Missed the place, drove by a couple of times before seeing the sign for the building. No place to park to check in. Double parked in front. Go up to the front door, cannot open it because it is locked. Press the door bell. Greeted by someone who looks like he is a guest was not allowed inside but was told to drive to the lot next door (that had a $40 parking sign). The lot was completely full with cars packed in double and triple parked. Given directions to go in the back of the house. After weaving in and out of cars with no place to walk with a suitcase. Go inside and have no idea where to go from there so we just keep walking. The lady we met at the check in (which was a desk next to the stairs for a make shift front desk area. Arrived at 2pm for a 3pm check in and then told we have to come back at 4pm. Leave go to lunch and come back at 4pm. No one around at front desk and no way to reach anyone for assistance. Go to the room - which had a regular door key. Turn the knob and it was unlocked. In the hallway was trash bags full of garbage and linen - again no one around. Go in the room and it was nicely decorated and smelled like it had been freshly cleaned - very nice! The bathroom for our room was big and looked like it was recently updated, big tub with jets but the water pressure in the tub made it almost unbearable to run the water and it took about 15-20min to have enough water to enjoy the bath. Went to turn on TV and no reception. Looked at the back and no cable for the typical hotel type service but instead had rabbit ears for reception. Hardly any channels to even have a TV on, and the stations that did work kept going in and out so not worth having it on. The bed had a headboard that rubbed the wall and the wall was a bit tore up from it. even just sitting up the headboard bumped the wall, had to put pillows behind it to keep it from hitting the wall over and over again. The decor throughout the inn was odd. It seemed like it was trying to be an upscale boutique but felt more like a bad B&B without any of the B&B touches. Would not recommend staying for the romantic setting, heard footsteps all through the night, people above us.

  Romantic Get Away

  Steps from Woodward, LCA, Comerica Park and local dining. Beautifully decorated Victorian Mansion with authentic antiques throughout. Staying here is truely a once in a lifetime experience. Although advertising as a bed & beeakfast, the breakfast was modest & unnoteworthy at best.
