  More than fine and really good food

  We stayed at the Old Kings Arms because we were visiting the Tutankhamun Exhibition in London and it seemed staying in Hemel Hempstead and going in by train was a good idea; and it was. We stayed for 2 nights and we much preferred staying here to staying in some soulless chain hotel. Check-in was very friendly when we arrived, our room being upstairs above the pub itself (other rooms are at the back). There was no noise from the pub in the evening, but it can be rather noisy from the road outside (traffic, not people). But as we were checking out, there were two chaps that looked like they had come to fit new windows or maybe secondary glazing, so if thats the case then that should cut the traffic noise down Im sure. Breakfast was very good, either a full breakfast or eggs Florentine, which my wife has both mornings, and loved. The lady serving breakfast was also great ! We ate both lunch and dinner on the first day; the gammon was very good, so much so I had the small sized one for lunch and then the larger one later on in the evening as well. All the food is cooked to order and its top quality, not industrial microwaved ready meals. Parking is a bit tricky, but we managed okay behind the hotel. Theres no restrictions so you just have to park where you can; we only had a couple of minutes walk to the car. So for our 2 nights it was great, wed certainly have no trouble staying at the Kings Arms again the next time we visit London.

  Dog friendly pub

  Brilliant pub! Dog friend which means everyone chats to each other, I was in the area for a week on business and really missed my pup so this place was a breath of fresh air. On my visit a customer injured themselves and staff were blooming amazing, no panic, just caring without alerting all us customers, friendly warm and I wish it was my local.

  Great Pub!

  Travelled up for a couple of days snowboarding and stayed here last night. Nice atmosphere in the pub through the evening and a good vibe. Very friendly staff and lovely clean room. Great night's sleep. Will definitely come back again next time I'm back up here.

  Picturesque

  Good hotel with very nice staff. Rooms are clean, decent and all en suite. Lovely bar downstairs with a broad range of beer an gin. Freshly cooked breakfast. Hotel situated in picturesque of town centre of Hemel Hempstead.

  Love this place

  My partner took me back to the ole olde kinds arms as we met here 4 years ago and brought back many good memories. We had an amazing time. The accommodation is better than it was before and we had a lovely big room. The garden was set out lovely and when we visited it was still warm to sit out in the afternoon . The breakfast is lovely and the staff so friendly . Great location in the old Hemel part and plenty of pubs and restaurants. Definitely recommend and will be going back . Thank you
