    Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful!

    I stayed here with my Mum for a 2 nights pre-lockdown break, and we were absolutely delighted with everything. The hotel location was perfect for exploring Bamburgh Castle and for access to the beach. Our twin room was comfortable, a decent size, very clean and it also had a clear view of the castle. The staff were just delightful- smiley, helpful and efficient. From the service in the bar, and in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, they were just lovely. Special thanks to Sally who looked after us really well. The supper menu was just right with a good choice of dishes- the lamb shank was particularly delicious. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of everything and the service was great. We will definitely go back as it was a great base for other local attractions. All round, excellent value and a fab place.

    Disappointed with Covid action

    The Victoria Hotel Bamburgh Cancelled booking due to COVID-19 776326460 Today we cancelled our Christmas booking at the Victoria Hotel due to the rising COVID 19 situation. Two emails sent to explain our decision to cancel. The hotel refused to refund our £200 deposit or transfer it to the Spring 2021. I spoke to the General Manager who was not at all prepared to be flexible under these exceptional times. His attitude was at times rude and and unhelpful. We our very disappointed with the Victoria Hotel on this matter. In a rapidly changing COVID situation in England, my wife and I made the sensible and safe decision. However the Victoria Hotel refused to be helpful on this matter.Very disappointed with this outcome . Then today the Government announced the new Covid rules which were predictable as I said to the manager, So still no refund or transfer of my booking. VERY POOR CUSTOMER CARE. SEE THE HOTELS OTHER REVIEWS RE COVID 19...VERY REVEALING

    Weekend to Northumberland

    We called in for an early dinner and received a warm welcome from the staff in the bar. All the necessary safety measures were in place and we felt comfortable during our meal. There were a good selection of dishes on the menu to suit all budgets and our meals were very fresh and well presented. There were some good local pale ales on offer and a selection of wines to suit all palettes. Certainly a very warm and lovely introduction to Northumberland and stunning Bamburgh.

    Very poor customer service

    We too have NOT received a very good response from the manager at this hotel. Refusing to give a refund for Christmas cancellation in spite of all the uncertainties at these difficult times. When we paid the very high deposit of £100 each on January 1st we were putting a deposit on a Christmas package exactly the same as we have have previously at this hotel. .(.when the deposit was only £25 each..)..This year the hotel is unable to provide that so we feel entitled to ask for a full refund. Several times this year I have asked the hotel what is their Policy re Christmas and Covid only to be told...no decision about Christmas had been made....No regard for the fact that there is every chance that we may not even be allowed to travel from our area to another. The attitude of this manager reflects very poorly on the company and does nothing to reassure us of a Covid Safe ...warm welcome. See other comments under the terrible rating to see we are not the first to make theses statements. Also many critics the LACK of safety precautions. So glad we decided not to go ahead.

    Christmas

    We booked for christmas and got absolutely nowhere with the manager, he would not move to next year or refund our deposits. In view of the current situation we feel a refund should be offered. We have visited the Victoria on many occasions, including taking a coach party for a week, but will think twice about booking this hotel again.
