  Best value in Kampala

  There is no better value in Kampala for a hotel. If you have been to Kampala, you would know that there are many low level hotels and many high level hotels. But, there is really nothing in the middle since the high level hotels cater to international tourists and business travelers, while the low level hotels service the typical Ugandan clients. Yet, if you need a good, clean, safe hotel with good service at a reasonable price, you are normally out of luck. TriStar Hotel is the solution. The hotel is a newer construction and the fit and finish on the hotel is some the best I have seen in Uganda. But, what really sets the hotel apart is the level of service for the price you are paying. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We felt welcomed at all times during our several day stay as we conducted a conference with over 35 people. In addition, the food was excellent, so we did not even need to leave the hotel even though we did at times. However, the hotel is not for everyone. It is located about two blocks off the main road into Kampala, so you are not seeing the more polished versions of Kampala. You are seeing people living their real life outside of the guarded hotel gates. Yet, even this location has its advantages since you do not hit nearly as much traffic on the way to the airport in Entebbe. Also, the rooms are a little smaller than some of the more upscale hotels, and the bathrooms are quite unique. I must say I have never been able to take a shower while sitting on the toilet before, but you have that option in the narrow bathrooms with no shower stalls. Yet, the bathrooms are clean and well done with the own individual water heaters to ensure you have hot water for your shower. We will definitely be going back, and I have not found a better deal in all of Kampala. You will need to spend at least four times as much to really get something of better quality.

  Definitely staying here again!

  Amazing staff members especially the manager Donald. He will do anything and everything to make sure that the guests get what they need. The location is great. Being on the periphery of Kampala and close to the main Entebbe road is a huge plus. Housekeeping is great and the facility is clean. In short one gets the bang for the buck at Tristar The proximity to the Entebbe road makes the facility noisy at times. A little sound proofing can take this hotel to the next level. The breakfast can be improved!

  Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  I visited Kampala recently and a friend had recommended me to this hotel already, i was really fascinated i had a great experience ever , the rooms are nice, bathroom,hot water they clean rooms as soon as you get out of it. The sense of humanity ,the friendliness of the staffs ,they are very conversant . Do not Miss to meet The General manager Donald who is always around for his guests ,We were a group of 8 people but were all equally happy .Keep it up Donald and your team We shall come back.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Very cheap and cool place

  Located few kilometers outside Kampala busy city, sublime environment got pub and restaurant down. The staffs are very friendly, enough parking space. Would love to go back there anytime soon. You pay like 70000 Ug Sh which equates to like 20 US dollar, cheap huh? Will be worthy of every penny spent.

  Comfortable, welcoming and easy on the pocket

  We spent 7 nights at the Tristar Hotel recently and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, with a small en-suite shower room where we actually got hot water!! The food is freshly-cooked, simple and wholesome. We particularly enjoyed the syrup tea which we were offered for breakfast. The only downsides were firstly, a lot of noise from the street and also from parties downstairs on several nights (but we were too tired to stay awake, so it didn't really bother us) and the weak Wi-Fi signal, which made it hard to find information and communicate with people as we would have wished. Nevertheless, we will certainly be going back, as this hotel is very good value for money and we were well looked after.
