    Mice place

Hotel is well placed between Batsi and Chora. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The View is spectacular! Breakfast superb but comes with extra fee Rooms are very clean, could be cheaper considering their size though

    Okay but wouldn't stay again

Sadly this property did not live up to our expectations based on a combination of the property description, photos and reviews. Among other things and in no particular order: 1. The wifi was awful. It did not work at all in the room and while there was some connection outside, it was patchy. This was a known problem and blamed on the location of the property although we were able to get very good internet at the taverna about 1km away. Attempts were being made to rectify the situation while we were there but the issues were still unresolved after a week.. 2. Although the property looks from the photos to be well located with wonderful views the reality is that it is located just above the main road from the port to all of the other key destinations on Andros meaning that it is noisy. It was particularly bad when commercial traffic passed by. The exact sighting of the road and the proximity of the rooms/communal outside areas to the road is certainly not made obvious in the photos so although we were aware from our own research before booking that the property was situated off the road, we hadn't quite realised just how intrusive the road would be in the room. 3.The room we had was small but based on the photos we were expecting that. We were however expecting a little more privacy/space in the outside area; it is a small patio in front of the room overlooking the road and the only entry walkway to access the property with just enough room for a small table and 2 chairs. Our room fared better than some. The rooms on the floor above ours (we were at in effect ground level although the property is on a slope meaning that there are steps up to this level from the parking area) had their (larger) tables in an even less private area on the route to the "reception". 4. We were disappointed with the kitchen facilities provided, They were very limited in our room. Among other things, crockery/utensils were limited. It contrasted greatly with our experiences before getting to Andros (i.e. same trip) in similar properties on Tinos and Naxos. 5. The toiletries provided were very limited and based on our experience of being given half empty bottles were (at best) recycled between rooms. It felt like we were being skimped on which given it is not the cheapest of properties, didn't best please us. 6. The reception is manned for a few hours in the morning and again in the evening. Everyone was friendly and helpful but not as helpful as those in the similar Tinos and Naxos properties. This resulted in our having to call the receptionist who greeted us (we arrived after notifying the property we would be doing so after 8.00pm) on her phone as she left to go home shortly after our arrival before we'd had a chance to notice there were no towels (or less of an issue, the promised water) in our room. Errors can happen of course, but that is precisely why the receptionist should have waited in our view a little while to allow us to settle in and to be sure there are no issues with the room. We also needed assistance using the satellite connection on the TV (good range of channels) as there are no instructions in the room. 7. And while the property seems generally well maintained (the lady cleaning the rooms and common areas was very good and thorough) attention to detail was lacking. For instance, the sun bed mattresses had fallen off the sunbeds but although in clear view/on the way to reception, they were left like that for days. 8. As for location generally, we knew what to expect. We were there to hike and we found it well located for that. Many of the hikes we wanted to do started nearby and we were happy to trade that against having an abundance of amenities close by. There is a taverna and coffee shop nearby (around 1km or so away) but no supermarkets/general provision shops (the closest are in Batsi about 6km away) and the bus is not frequent/generally late running so a car (and/or organisation) is necessary if these are important factors. Generally this property didn't live up to our expectations and we were happy - sadly eager - to leave it when we did. It just wasn't easy (e.g.. no internet/limited kitchen facilities) or comfortable and it's location didn't make up for that. And because of all of this, we did not find it to be value for money,

    Beautiful!

Villa Alisachni is amazing. A magical view opens out in front of you when you get out of your room. You can have your breakfast in your room or outside. Owners very friendly and helpful Beautiful and clean rooms. Close to Chora and even closer to Batsi. I loved it....

    Stylish but expensive and noisy.

Villa Alisachni looked stunning from the photos on Airbnb. Great views, beautiful modern rooms and amazing reviews. This is our unbiased opinion: Pros: -The room is beautifully decorated, we wouldnt have thought of a better décor, well done! -The Villa is conveniently located between Batsi and Gavrio and quite close to a supermarket. -The communal space is also stunning with great sea views (although not always free for you to sit). -The Wi-Fi connection was good. -The little kitchen area has a coffee machine and 2 pods were provided each day -The mattresses and bedding were of excellent quality! Cons: -The Villa is located very close to an extremely main road (where lorries, buses and cars go past for the biggest part of the day). This was very annoying for us as we had no idea how main this road was and therefore how noisy it would be! The photos on the listing do not indicate how close to the road the Villa is. -The room (as were other 3 next to ours) and its little outside space was right in front of a walking path where residents from all the other rooms went past. This meant, again, zero privacy. -No breakfast option was available at any point. Also, some essentials were missing such as cups for our cereal and briki (pot) for our Greek coffee. -The bathroom was extremely small. -The host made good contact prior to our booking. Upon arrival, she made contact via the phone to explain were our keys were, to give us recommendations for the area and said that she would be in the next morning. For the whole of our stay (5 nights) no one made face to face contact with us (even though there was a reception area) and on the last day when we dropped off the keys the person there (someone other than the host) did not even ask how our stay was. Overall, we found this to be an expensive, stylish but very noisy choice for our Andros stay and we wouldnt return.
