  An ideal holiday location.

  This family run hotel has been in the Reindl family for three generation and it shows. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in a self contained, superior apartment with kitchen area. Fresh bread can be ordered daily, which is a great facility. Hotel rooms are also available. Walking is direct from the Hotel in all directions and there is a short walk to the chairlift which goes to the top of the Hoernle mountain( see separate review). The wellness centre has various sauna areas which are complementary. Other treatments are available at cost, towels and bathrobes are provided free of charge. Highly recommended.

  Little gem in the hills

  Came here in foggy and gray weather in November 2016 and had a great time. The Hotel is a bit out of the town of Bad kohlgrub but you can walk in, in 15-20 minutes. The basement wellness area is excellent: clean, well set up and very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. A great base for exploring the area. We will be coming back!

  Beautiful days in Bavaria

  My wife and I stayed here for three nights. We loved the location, the wellness centre, the room. The bathroom was spotless and the shower very spacious. The breakfast was abundant and varied. I hope to come back here soon.

  Best 3 Star we have stayed in.

  We have stayed in many hotel apartments across Europe, they have varied in cost, standards, and, stars, but the apartment at the hotel Waldruh stands out for all the right reasons. We are definitely going back. It is positioned at the bottom of a 1300m mountain in a lovely Baverian town about 30 mins from Garmisch. What stands out about this hotel is that it is family run and they make sure their guest are looked after. We were shown around the hotels facilities which included a sauna's, steam room, and relaxation areas that would have would not have looked out of place on a big hotel. There is a really well stocked drinks store where you sign and help yourself. The restaurant for breakfast has a very good selection, it does open in the evening but we didn't eat there. The apartment was best of all. The one we had was two bedroom with an open planned kitchen, living room, dining room. The kitchen was really well equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher and many other appliances. Overall this was the best equipped kitchen we have had. The apartment was made of light wood beams, with high ceilings and two balconies. I am quite sure all the rooms have a balconies. Overall I was surprised that this hotel only has 3 stars. Without a doubt we have stayed at many hotels with more stars, costing more, but which didn't come close to this friendly, well run hotel with great facilities. The views and surrounding areas are breath taking.

  Bavarian Beauty

  Great stay! Beautiful views from our balcony( watched they cows being taken up the mountain in the morning.) Room was clean , lots of wood ..very what I would call Bavarian looking. Breakfast was included. What impressed us the most were the peronal touches: Sunday morning breakfast included a cake , which the owner's mother makes , sparkling wine on the buffet table!The staff ask for your room number when you go down to breakfast and by the time you get back , your room is freshly tidied. I must mention the supply room: beer wine etc available on the honour system. Take what you want, just mark it down. Where in the world does that still happen!?Location in a nice little village , several good restaurants , close proximity, yet away from the touristy town in the area.
