  Great staff, awesome location!

  My wife and I visited over the weekend for a long weekend away. We were amazed at the fantastic views from the hotel, the way the staff are always on hand and happy to help. There are some lovely walks locally, we visited Beatrix Potters studios on the second day, this was a nice treat for my wife who grew up reading the books about Peter rabbit. We will definitely be back, the food from the hotel and staff really make this place! Massive thank you to all of you. Kind regards, Liam

  Wonderful stay

  We had often driven past this hotel, located at the top of Windermere, but had never stayed there. It has an impressive aspect over Windermere with the lake and fells in the distance. On site parking is useful and Carolina, who checked us in was most helpful. The room was compact but comfortable. The town is a short walk away with great shops and bars. Another option is to walk behind the hotel to Orrest Head with its spectacular views of Lake Windermere and its surroundings. The food and service were both excellent, and nicely presented too. A lovely Lake District experience which even the weather couldnt spoil

  Lovely Hotel

  We have just returned from a 5 day break to this hotel with Shearings Holidays. The staff were all pleasant and the food very good. Our room, 208, was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We had a walk in shower in the bathroom. Our Shearings driver, Matt, was the best driver we have ever had. He made the holiday with his kindness and humour. The only complaint, and it is not the hotels fault, was that it rained almost continually the whole time.

  Warm and comfortable

  A good hotel to return to after a day of walking. Snug, warm room with comfortable bed and plenty of tea making facilities. We only saw two staff who were very kind. Meals were limited due to COVID-19 restrictions but were hot and tasty. We were surprised there was no cheeseboard option with Lancastrian and Cumbrian cheeses and chutneys. Fabulous setting and lots of carparking.

  Terrible

  Stayed here in late September 2020 for work. My work booked this accomadation for me and a colleague. We had both separate rooms and too say they was awful was an understantment had mould in the room all up and around the windows. It hadn't been dusted or cleaned. The lock on the door was dodgy. I spoke with a member of staff and that made no change. I was so disappointed with this hotel over all.
