  Living the "Life of Pi"

  Have not seen the movie yet, but the hotel has really capitalized on the fact the film crew stayed there during at least part of the filming of the movie. Looks to a an older property but has aged well. Beautiful setting which will have you snapping pictures right and left. Rooms are nice and kept very clean. There is a complimentary breakfast/brunch that has a tremendous selection of food as well as the best view of the ocean. The spa was nice after a hard day on rental electric scooters. By the way the scooters were a blast.

  Kids hotel for kids

  We stayed for 3 nights over Easter. Four families each in a themed room. The room decor, bright and colourful made the kids really lively in a resort loving way. Overlooking the play pool, they just wanted to get the fun going each morning. Being this time of year, the water was a little cold, but there is an indoor warm water pool everyone can cram into and two 40 degree "onsens" The breakfast was adequate but being a kid's hotel, you'd think they would provide a kid's counter for them to serve themselves. Maybe later. We took in the fun and sights of Kenting with a driver in a large van. Dinner in Kenting town was much more interesting than the hotel.

  Everything run for operational convenience but not customers' need. Staff is not helpful. Service is very slow and not responsive. With several hundred rooms, just open one restaurant for dinner at peak season. No restaurant nearby. What's worse, buffet dinner only and no a la carte~ easy to operate!? Lift is a bit smelly & room is not clean. Resort is well designed & built, but poorly managed and not customer oriented.

  OK but odd

  Booked this a bit last minute so other hotels were full. The kids theme is done quite well. The family room is spacious and well fitted out, so no complaints there. The room rate included buffet breakfast for four, which seemed reasonable...until I saw the buffet. Just awful. Food quality is poor, to say the least. The best thing about it is that it's open until 1pm! So, we snacked up in the morning and brunched so we just needed to look for dinner somewhere. Dinner at the hotel was buffet again - no option - and not good. The location of this hotel is a bit out-of-the-way. To get anywhere is a taxi ride of at least NT$400. Taxi drivers in Kenting refuse to use meters and all trips are a fixed price - at least twice what you pay in Taipei. Almost NO English is spoken here. One guy on reception has very good English, but everyone else had none. ALL kids' activities - crafts, stargazing and stories, etc - are all done in Chinese. We are not Chinese and literally saw only one other non-Chinese family there in six days. Six days was too long. The pools are good, except you need to wear swimming caps in all of them all the time. One pool has two slides, which are good fun. Kids need to be 120cm to go down. All in all, it was ok but a bit odd. I wouldn't stay here again if coming to Kenting.

  It's not a bad place to stay. Facilities is good, room decorations is ok to kids. My daughter loves this place. Outdoor activity mostly water activity - swimming pool. Food court is ok and the sea view of restaurant is very good. It's a place that you can stay a day long with kids.
