  Still brilliant

  We just stayed here for two weeks after spending ne week here in April 2018. It was windy for our first 4 days in the hotel, which stopped us from snorkelling in the sea. However, the old sweat snorkelers still swam and drifted down to the next resort a couple of km away. It's still brilliant. The staff are great. The food is very good. The sea, when it is calm is just unbeatable for snorkelling - one day we snorkelled next to a turtle on the reef on our own for half an hour. La Vela a la carte restaurant is greta, although one of our visits was spoiled by a couple of women who smoked heavily at the next table. It was very still and we had to put up with their smoke in our eyes. This is one of the down sides of an one air restaurant that overlooks the sea at night -but the hotel could improve by making this a non smoking restaurant completely. Overall we still love it here and will return next year.

  Fabulous

  Just come back and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is spotless clean everywhere. Food is excellent quality and always a large selection to chose from. All the staff were friendly and always approachable. The gardens are absolutely outstanding. Will be coming back next year. The only downside is that you have to pay for internet access

  Lovely hotel

  We visited as a couple for the last week in June and the first week in July, having visited Egypt numerous times this hotel is on par with most. As many have said the hotel is clean, rooms were cleaned to a good standard, the hotel is trying to be eco friendly so towels and bedding are only changed when asked. The furniture in the room i felt was a little dated, the wardrobe door did not close properly but not a major issue. Bottled water was provided in the room daily. There are water fountains dotted around the hotel to refill which on a personal level i do not like as people fill using used bottles and contaminate the fountains (also saw this happening with the juice in the dining room). We did not have any issues with food, lovely soups, always found something to eat with breakfast being the best. The menus appeared to be on a weekly rotation. The hotel was very quiet during the first week, there are very few British visitors, the staff are surprised to hear English being spoken, I felt that animation team avoided us as English was not spoken well, we had the initial pestering for trips and the spa at the beginning but again they left us alone quickly. Beach and pool area both really lovely, never an issue at either finding sunbeds, towels provided. Snorkeling a must it was difficult over a few days due to high winds, we saw the usual fish, rays and morays, we had the pleasure almost every jetty snorkel of seeing the turtle. we found the lagoons less good due to poor visibility. There should be a special mention to the gardens that are amazing given the heat and the conditions, the gardeners must work so hard. The resort is well spread out, no close beach bar or beach service so a trek to get drinks this is less problematic at the pool. There was not a big variety of soft drinks, no carton fruit juices. They are currently building a new beach grill restaurant, so a little noise in the beach area from this. We would visit again despite the long transfer from the airport.

  A nice hotel with a beautiful coral reef

  A nice hotel, about 50 km south of Marsa Alam, about 90 minutes from the airport. The beach is beautiful and there is a large beautiful swimming pool. There are plenty of sun beds on the beach and at the pool. There is a nice house reef from the beach, where you can snorkel well. The staff are friendly and service oriented, the food is good and varied, the rooms are spacious and hygiene is in order. The guests are mainly Italians and Germans. Guests who have been before will receive preferential treatment and will be treated with more égards. The WiFi is ridiculously expensive.

  Gorgonia is a luxury resort with all comforts

  I've spent one week in Gorgonia; staff is kind and the village is wide. the food is various for all tastes, as an italian aI can say it is not so excellent, but it is ok. The sea is wonderful and perfect for snorkeling and diving. Actually the age of most of customers is a little high, but if you like peace and wonderful barrier Reef, this is a perfect place.
